My bun is acting very strange she is about 9 weeks old and a lionhead bunny (if it matters). She has been leaping like LEAPING throughout the room? She is also becoming more and more distant. When i first got her she was all lovey dovey. She would let you hold her forever even when i brought her home she was hopping ALL OVER me! but now (1 week later) she won’t let me touch her unless she is in her new cage? I haven’t hurt her or punished her in ANY WAY! Is there something i should do or be concerned about??

Leaping? As in jumping high in the air and twisting her body? That’s a binky and it’s a sign that she is very happy! She is literally leaping for joy! She was probably cuddly at first because she was just afraid. Now that’s she more comfortable with her surroundings shed rather play and explore. Buns aren’t normally cuddly. Give her some time she’s still adjusting to her new home and with age she will be more calm. I have one bun that doesn’t care too much to be picked up or petted. And she is almost a year old. I have another who is just the opposite and LOVES pets. You just need to respect the bun as an individual. They’re all different

Your rabbit is just becoming more independent and comfortable with her surroundings. Mine isn’t fond of being held but is cool with me petting him. It’s just depends on their personality. Bonding is pretty simple, you just need to spend time with them passively and actively. So she’ll be used to your presence. Food and treats also help! That way she’ll associate you with good things.
