i recently moved my bunny inside, as he was housed outdoors since may and hes 3 years old, un neutered, i know neutering will help with this problem but hes never done this before. he bit my hand really bad on wednesday, didnt cause much blood but two bite marks about an inch apart and a big bruise. then today he bit my knuckle, it bled quite a bit and its starting to turn blue. this is the second time hes ever bitten me and i dont know why. everytime he bites me i just put him into his cage as punishment. is there anything else to help stop this behaviour?

What are you doing when this happens? A little context would help.

Could it be that he does not want you to pick him up?

Hmm, it does sound like he’s reacting to the thought of you picking him up.

He probably doesn’t realize how hard he’s biting. Have you tried squealing at him to let him know he’s hurting you? This deters most bunnies and they learn to adjust the pressure they are using. Putting him in his cage as “punishment” probably won’t work because he won’t associate biting you with going in the cage.
