I woke up one morning a few days ago and noticed that I had bug bites on my hands, on my neck, chest, and ankles.
The bites are usually in clusters.  I looked up pictures online to try and identify them.  It looks like bed bug, mites, or scabies.
I was wondering if this has happend to anyone else?  Could these be bugs from the hay?
I went to the doctor and they couldn’t give me any advice as to what to do.
It looks like the bites are somewhat going away.

Are they itchy? It’s more likely an irritation than bugs. Have you changed laundry detergent?

They are a little bit itchy, but mostly not. I would say a mosquito bite is 10 times worse.
I have changed laundry detergent, but I have used it for about 3 weeks now, and it hasn’t bothered me until now if that’s the case.
I mean the “bites” look like pimples/zits for the most part.

Have you checked for fleas?  I would say it does sound a bit like contact dermatitis and could be the new detergent.  Sometimes it can take time for it to cause a skin reaction. have you reached into the hay at all?  That would cause this problem and have you ever had a set of allergy tests done?

              Check here for more info:

Have you applied any hydrocortizone, Benadryl cream or calamine lotion to it?  I would suggest paying a visit to you Dr. if at all possible because it would really be beneficial to know that if it is the hay, you need to wear gloves and/or long sleeves when you handle it.

Well, fact is I have been handling timothy hay with my bare hands for 10 years now, and this has never happened before.
The doctor that I went to did not think it was important enough to try and figure out what it is.
Honestly, the internet helps me with figuring out what I have more so than doctors do anymore.
While some of the bites randomly get itchy, others are fading for the most part.

That’s too bad you didn’t have a Dr. to help you out more. Again, have you tried putting anything on it? None of us here are Dr.’s or professionals that can really help diagnose or treat any malady, rabbit or human, we can only offer up some suggestions what things might be to help you figure it out. Sometimes though the internet can be a place you do not want to rely on, especially when it comes to medical conditions and should best be handled by a qualified professional.

If you think it could possibly be related to your bunnies- you should have them checked out by a vet to make sure they do not have mites, lice or fleas- often mites and lice can not be diagnosed without a microscope, so it is impossible to diagnosis at home.

Have you tried webmd? I’ve heard that’s a good site for human medical advice. Katnip has a good point-if their are lice or anything like that your buns could have them too-so you might want to have them checked out as well (hopefully the vet is more concerned then your doc!! )
