        Rain lived for 5 years with us, 5 really happy years. Part of me is glad her issues only arose suddenly at the end instead of following her since birth, part of me wishes it hadn’t all happened so quickly and uncontrollably. There is not much I need to say. As long as Rain knew everything I needed to tell her, and she did, I don’t really want to dredge up words other than I will never ever forget about her. Thank you for advising us on how to care for her, from when we didn’t know if she was a girl or a boy, to when she stole thin mints from my room, to her first bout of GI stasis, and to the end. I don’t think I could have given her as good care as she received without this forum. It’ll be nice to scroll back through old posts when I’m ready. Binky Free precious Rain ❤️ 🌈 Not sure if the video will upload but we buried her in our backyard in her favorite blanky, and bought a cute pinwheel which she would have been fascinated by. This is a beautiful resting place for a deeply loved bun.

            Thank you for being a lovely contributor on these forums. Imo it was good for Rain that she was ill for such a short time, but a very rapid decline is worse for the family. That goes for human family members as well as animal family members. We have a deep need to get to say a proper goodbye, but we also want the loved one’s suffering to be as short as possible.

            You grew into adulthood with Rain, and so she’ll always be a part of who you are. That is a wonderful legacy.

              <hr />

              The hardest part today is just forgetting that she’s not going to poke her head out of her tent or try to sneak upstairs or circle my feet until i feed her. I just feel the utter lack of everything that I loved about her.

                  What a beautiful memorial tribute to your dearly beloved buddy. I’m so sorry for your loss, she was a gorgeous girl.

                  Seeing her stuff without her in it is indeed heartbreaking. Just the sight of his tunnel and toys drove me to tears after Breintje passed away.

                  I wish you all the best for the difficult time ahead.

                  Binky free, sweet Rain!
