When i was cleaning out the litter box today i noticed about half of Hammers poops were bigger then normal. The smaller/ irregular / different amount poops are the only ones to worry about right? Maybe its just because he is getting older and growing? Nothing in his diet had changed. Am i being overly careful and protective? lol I know sort of an odd question but better to be safe then sorry right!

Haha, no such thing as a silly rabbit question! I would say you probably don’t have anything to worry about as long as they’re not irregularly shaped. Maybe he just ate a little differently today?  Monitor if it makes you feel better until you hear from another user who’s more helpful as a “poop-ologist”

Pip (and Fiver, surprisingly), both have varying sizes of poops. Pip tends to have larger when she eats things like oat or wheat hay and Fiver just gets larger poops because he eats so much hay. Mimzy has the smallest of the three and no matter what I feed him that doesn’t change.

I agree with Rachel…as long a they aren’t shaped funny (egg or oval shaped) or have hair linking them or they’re way small, then I think that’s just your bunny’s insides doing a great job! ^_^

Stormy has odd shaped poops pretty regularly. Mostly, his odd poops are bigger and egg shaped. I just try to make sure has unlimited hay and lots of wet, leafy veggies.

Fern gets that sometimes too, is it anything to worry about? The egg shaped poos?

Thanks guys! The number of bigger poops is much greater now, so i assume that he is just eating more and im doing a better job : ) They arent oddly shaped or pearls or hairy so YAY! Im happy that all is going well with his tummy lol.

                      Big poops? *high five*

Here are some signs of healthy poops:
                      1. Fairly large
                      2. Firm
                      3. Dry
                      4. Round (from what I’ve experience, generally round is fine, even if a bit lopsided or egg shaped)

Here are some signs of unhealthy poops:
                      1. Runny
                      2. Unusual color (very dark, or very light in contrast to normal poops)
                      3. Strung together with hair
                      4. Covered in mucus (as opposed to “shiny” poops which are usually territorial poops, mucus poops generally look very wet and have bits of clumps of mucus on them)
                      5. Non-existent – if your bunny doesn’t poop at all, especially for a whole day, then there is something wrong!
