My poor boy is shedding like crazy! Which I don’t remember my last holland lop doing so much. I do have a small slicker brush but it doesn’t seem to be working that well, what are some other brush/comb options to release his shed? Thank you!

I love the “Hair Buster” comb, along with hand plucking when they are really molting and lint rollers. The combo of those three tends to work well on my various rabbits. I’ve also used the kong groom zoom and it works OK but the fur goes flying all over the place which I don’t love.

second hair buster. i have a “knockoff” one that was a bit cheaper, but the same overall design concept (though it is green), and she really loves it. if you go the knockoff route, make sure to look at reviews 🙂 i just gave my rabbit a brushing and she was not happy when it was over, she wanted me to continue.

I want to say, I would definitely NOT recommend one of those grooming gloves (you know the gloves you put on that have little bumps on them that are supposed to pick up the hair.) maybe i have only ever gotten bunk ones, but I have never managed to get them to pick up any hair. there could be good ones out there that i’m not aware of, but i have never found one!

I have a lionhead and the only thing that works on her when she’s having a really heavy molt is a lint roller. The hairbuster works pretty well too for other times when she’s not shedding as badly.

Hey, is it OK to to share youtube links? I wanted to share this video:

I used the comb she uses in this video. She recommends this hack of weaving a rubber band through it to make it like the hair buster. I never did that personally, but I find the comb itself works nicely. Hair buster comb might work much better though than what I have, I have never used one, so I can’t say! but thought this video might be of interest
