        Hi!

Since the temperature has been steady, I have decided I would take my Caspar outside for some vitamin D and fresh air. I don’t currently have an x-pen nor do I have the $70 dollars to spend on something I won’t be using everyday (such as one for a cage). I don’t feel safe letting him run around the back yard as it is quite large, and also has a huge patch that has red ant hills But don’t worry, there is a lot of space that doesn’t have red ant hills. So I was wondering what the best harness is for a bunny. I prefer not to get one of those cheap off brand ones that can harm them. If you could please leave the name and brand of the one you use, if you use one, I would greatly appreciate it!

I got a good harness that fits every rabbit. It is by Coastal Pets Inc. it is a no-slip harness and leash in one. It looks cheap but actually is really nice and simple. I got it for Christmas so I don’t know where it could be sold. The PetCo one I baught in the past and it totally broke without strain… Cheap, not worth the 13$ so go with the Coastal Pet Inc. ones.

            Hi Caspar’sHome,

I picked my exercise pens up from Craigslist for super cheap. And I mean cheap (both for $40). But they are good quality. I know that rabbits do agility courses with harnesses on, but I have read of two people’s experiences where they say that it was dangerous for the rabbit’s spine if the rabbit got freaked out by noises, etc. However, I do understand that you are trying to find a solution to a problem. There is a current thread on the forum that discusses a similar topic on UV rays (?), and you might wanna check that one out.

You can always section off your yard with a DIY fence. It’s always a lot better for the rabbit to be able to racetrack around a (safe) area, and they keep the weight off, too.

I really like Love4Bunny’s suggestion. I think you will possibly use a pen A LOT more then you think. They are super useful, especially indoors when you want to bunny proof and area. Or stop other pets (your own or visiting) entering a room where your bunny is. Also good to take away with you if you and bunny are staying somewhere away from home.
