        Hello!

I am wondering if anyone could recommend the best clippers and brushes/combs for buns with long cotton-y fur.

My bunny Churro is a Fuzzy Lop (I think) and his fur has been an uphill battle since I adopted him almost a year and a half ago. Apparently, it was for his former owners too, because the shelter said they had to shave several huge mats from him. Anyways, he is a very good boy and lets me trim and brush him, but I would like to find a more efficient (and safe) way to groom him at home. He has done well going to the vets to be shaved when needed, but I would prefer to do it at home as much as possible. Here are some pics of him if it helps. 🙂

Another question is whether it is best to keep fur trimmed short or keep it long. I swear his fur tangles if you look at him sideways lol. Thanks for the help! 🙂

I always had better luck with battery powered clippers meant for people. They are less bulky, quieter, and still get the job done since bunny fur is fine and fluffy.

@LBJ10 Oh, ok, I wasn’t sure if something like that would go through bunny fur. I have a couple small ones, though, so maybe I will try that. 🙂

It depends, but I personally never had trouble with the smaller clippers.

Definitely make sure you get the round-tip scissors if you buy a pair for more tricky places!

Yes, good call about the scissors! I have been looking at those, as well. 🙂 Thank you!

                    BrunosMama ! Hi!👋🏼

Im not on here much these days but it was nice surprise to find a post from you.
What a cutie you have there! I don’t really have any grooming tips, just envy.

I do recall Bunnytowne has some good recs from when she has that long haired white bun. I think was a teddy lion head? She always kept her looking fabulous. I try see if I can find an old thread.

This has a little about her technique and comb preferences. (Images and links not working)
