Hi guys! So, I’ve always been a big fan of the “hair buster” comb…. it’s worked perfectly for all of my bunnies, up until Moose!

He is a Satin, and his fur is so silky smooth that the rubber doesn’t even grab his loose fur. I know he is molting (he’s got a racing stripe down his side that seems to be lasting forever) and I’m finding a lot of hair in his poops, but when I brush him nothing comes out! I hand pluck a few tufts here and there, but he isn’t even that tufty. It’s quite the conundrum.

        Any recommendations?

Maybe just use a regular plastic comb and a baby brush. My baby rabbit isn’t shedding yet but I tried grooming her with a rubber brush and nothing happened. I got some hair in the baby brushes bristles. Is your rabbit a black otter? Mine is too

Thor has fur very similar to this! I’m not sure if she’s a satin, but she is very very soft and most brushes don’t do anything for her fur. She also doesn’t get tufty, just kindof sheds from everywhere at once The hair buster comb on BB store is the first thing that did any good. When she is shedding a lot, the hair buster will get out good clumps of under-fur. However, her silky long top fur still needs to be hand pulled. Another good tool for me are those rubber petting gloves (brand name is Love Glove, but there are other alternatives). These work very well for me to pull fur off her since they have a slight static charge and attract fur.

Static actually is the best thing with these bunnies xD That’s why I recommend plastic combs to get shedding better. They have more static.

I’m not sure if he officially is a black otter, but I always say he looks and feels like and otter! He is just so plush and smooth! His top coat is more dark brown than black, and his tummy is very light golden….. he really is gorgeous.

I’ll give a plastic comb a try, thanks!

It’s hard because there is a lot of fur ending up in his poops, but then I brush him, pet him, and try to hand pull, and nothing comes off of him! It’s perplexing…..
