Well.. it seems like we are over the hump with the “stress induced stasis” thing. We decided to give her full reign of the house.. or most of it.. bunneh proofed, of course… and just see what happens. Since my last post, Bella has gained so much confidence that we think we may have created a monster! LOL! She’s bouncin’ around the house.. she has a little tantrum when hubby leaves for work or class.. she’s head butting for all sorts of reasons (and we have learned to comprehend each one) …….and… I think we may have discovered her weakness… blueberries.

She’s been responding really well to some simple commands.. ahem.. requests…. who am I foolin’, right? She’s adjusted to the routine and is bright and bouncy when it’s getting close to morning and evening salads. She’s even trained hubby  to comply with the “love me, rub my ears like this.. no that.. okay” head butt.

And I’ve seen some of the most awesome binky acrobats I think I’ve ever seen from a bunneh! (I am pretty sure she’s not as old as the rescue or the initial Vet assumed. She’s way too agile! LOL!)

Thanks for everyone’s suggestions, comments and so on. We really appreciate it!

I’m so glad she is coming around! You have done a great job with her. She’s very lucky to have someone like you caring for her and being patient too.

That’s great! What did you do to get her over her anxiety? I’m thinking your techniques may help other owners with insecure bunnies.

Or is it just all about the blueberries? 😉

Isn’t it funny when you find their fruit weakness? Coco was all too cool for banana and Jackson turned his nose up at blueberries, until I rubbed a little on the tip of their noses and they licked it.

Whooo Baby, an attitude change was immediate!

Thank you! The patience has paid off most, I think. I moved very, very slow around her ..increasing my normal pace a little at a time… until I was full out going about my business, as usual… and not having a thumping or scared to death rabbit at my feet. It took a few days.. and yes, treats.. LOL! ..but I think we’ve overcome the majority of the stress.

She is even making rounds with me ..to serve up the other Zoo members’ salads. At first, I thought she was being so sweet.. my little companion. I soon figured out that she’s inspecting my service and what I’m serving. She doesn’t want to miss out on anything!

Now, if I can convince her to continue using the poo box in my Cavy’s cage.. but discontinue eating her own food and his, too… we will be closer to perfection. Hahaha! He’s in a C ‘n C, so she has easy access.. but she’s potty trained ..and she likes his box best, so I don’t want to disrupt this.

Like I said.. I’m pretty sure we’ve created a monster bunneh!
