Bell was our families Bunny.
We got bell in early 2004, A bit over 7 years ago. I had to beg Mum to let us get her, I was able to talk Mum into getting Bell as her Birthday present, and for our other bunny Lopsy to have as a mate.
We brought Bell home I was so excited. I remember Bell was a little bit scared of Lopsy when they first met. He tried to hump her and she ran away and hid.
Soon after we got Lopsy De-sexed and afer that Lopsy and Bell became best friends. They ate together, played together, slept together. Lopsy even taught Bell where to go to the toilet.
And Bell ended up being more the male bunny sometimes humping lopsey if he anoyed her. She had a very strong personality.
Later that year Lopsy tradiclly was attacked by the neighbours dog and died the next day in my sisters arms He was the most affectionate bunny. And held on till the end we all thought he tried so hard to stay with us.
This hit me and Bell quite hard. But we gave her lots of affection and she got through it with the family. She became very affectionate herself after Lospey passed away. I think before that she was more dependant on Lospey for company then us.
Later on we got Tobey who became friends with Bell. They would play chase all day around the yard. And suggle up together when i pated them. We also had a bunny named Charlie who was bought with Tobey. He past away at a young age but was a very clever bunny. He was small and agile and could climb very well and Tobey was big and slow hehe
Bell would always be on the lookout for danger and thump hard if anything was going on. I remember she would thump if there was smoke for the bbq or a big bird or cat in the backyard.
We had Toby and Bell for a very long time. Bell became alot more then a pet over the years she was really part of our family. After our Dog Tessa past away at nearly 17, Bell and Tobey helped me recover from the loss Tessa was a year older than me and I had never lived without her. I became even more attached to our Bunnies when Tessa past away.
Bell loved long cuddles on the bed most. And to be held. She would always snuggle right in We always said she purred like a cat when she was most happy. She had 7 years in good health with no more problems just love and good time with our family and other pets.
I just want to write about Bell to help me grief her passing as I am most upset. I want to honor her life and what a good companion she was to the family I would do anything to give her one for cuddle so if your reading this please give your Bunny a pat or cuddle for me.
Yesterday I noticed Bell was breathing much harder than normal, It was Sunday so only a far away special vets was open. I took her straight there. The vet put her into an oxgen tank and said that he would x-ray her when her breathing settled. I got to give her one last pat before I left. Crying the drive home. Later that night the vet rang and gave me the bad news telling me shes gone downhill. He recommened that he put her to sleep so she wouldnt suffer too much. I asked if I could come in and see her before hand but the vet recommened they act quickly so she didnt suffer. I cryed for a very long time. But i know shes in a better place where she wont suffer and had a very good life while giving me and my family and pets many beautiful memories. I will burry her in the garden which she loved this afternoon.
So from all the Family including Tobey and Heidi (our Golden retriever pup) we love you Bell and thank you from the great time you gave us! We will never ever forget you. I hope you are now with Lopsy Tessa and Charlie once again.
