Hi,i am new to this! I got my bunny 2 months ago shes a mixed breed but gorgeously white and fluffy! I have always had an outside rabbit at my mums house and both were males, so this is my first indoor rabbit! so after reasearching i realised the best quality of life for her was to be spayed. On friday last week she had her procedure and i got her home at 5pm. She was not herself for a couple of days (which I expected) but now she is really boisterous, trying to brush her or anything i to for her she previously never minded being brushed. Its really upsetting me as we were getting on so well prior to this!! Does anyone have any advice or been through the same experience and can help! Thanks x

          Hey!
Deep breaths! It can take two weeks before the bunny is mostly back to herself after a spay
          – and then for a month or two after she can have some crazy days as her hormones re-balance and she gets used to that (she is basically going through menopause right now – and I know what MY Mom was like when she was going through menopause haha)

I have always found that the rabbits personalities don’t change much after – except they become a bit more mellow.

Just give her some time and try to not handle her too much for at least another week (its only been one week) As you should be limiting her amount of running around for 10 days after the surgery anyway.

Thank you!! I never thought about the hormone level! Makes sense now you have explained it!
Fingers crossed she settles down soon i feel really bad for her! X

Oh I totally understand! I just went through it a few months ago!

But just remember that you did this out of love for her and it truly was for her best interest!
