As much as I hate to say it, the boys handle the surgery better than the girls do because it is not quite such an invasive surgery and he should be just fine. I would say though that if you had a girl on your hands, to demand pain killers. Make sure you’ve got plenty of fragrant, tempting veggies on hand like cilantro, parsely and mint.

Good luck BAXTER!!! Like Scarlet Rose said, usually the boys do much better after the surgery than girls do, and most of the boys that I have taken to be neutered did not get pain meds for after the surgery. Do watch and make sure he doesn’t jump around much because if he somehow bumped that “area” it would probably REALLY hurt So limit his action until the swelling goes down, and make sure to check his healing progress once a day to make sure he hasn’t irritated the area and that it is healing well. It is normal to see incision lines and a bit of dried blood, but anything that looks odd you should call your vet and let them know.
