We just moved into a house that needs work. Baxter has gotten used to roaming free in the kitchen. I need to paint and do some things in the kitchen before letting him have it so he is currently in his xpen. He kicks litter occasionally but he really does it when he isn’t happy. He is doing it a lot. He keeps throwing his water bowl so I got him a bottle today. Now he is scooting his pen around. Moving the entire pen. He is trying to jump out. Today I brought home a baby bun but this behavior is due to the move. He is mad at me and wants out of the pen. I will have the perfect set up fir him within the next week but how do I keep him happy til then? I really can’t let him out yet

He is just going to have to deal with it until the space is finished. A construction zone (tools, paint, dust, etc.) is NOT safe for a bunny. Where is his pen located while the kitchen is being worked on, can you allow him supervised playtime in the other space?

Poor Baxter. The move must be hard on him cause everything has changed and he can’t explore! I bet it’s driving him crazy…but Beka’s right, it’s not safe. Good luck working out a solution, maybe more toys and play time?

He was in the living room while the kitchen was being painted. He is now in his pen in the kitchen. There is a neat nook under our stairs. I’m going tonput him there. That will be his habitat and he can still explore the kitchen. Right now there are still paint cans in the kitchen and we need to make the nook comfy and safe for him. He doesn’t play with toys. Not at all. He just loves to explore. He is going crazy in that pen. I need to get it finished for him.

Like others said, he’ll just have to learn to live with it. When mine have been confined to a pen, Hannah makes a gigantic mess, destroys everything she can, and pushes the pen around constantly.

Hopefully you get his new space finished soon! Is there somewhere else in the house you can take him for exercise? An empty bedroom maybe?

Baxter was making such a fuss that I just moved the mess out of the kitchen and put gates up and let him go. He is a happy boy now

The only thing left to do in the kitchen now is paint the cabinets so it’s okay for him

I love rabbitude. I think it’s so funny. I get major rabbitude from Charlie if I feed him even 5 minutes after 6pm.
