So I am considering letting Zeus have run of the bathroom at night so he is basically only in his cage for the hours I am at work.  I know I want to make sure he has some sort of rug for traction in there.

Right now I have one of those bathroom rugs that has fringy material, kinda like shag carpet.  Is this safe to use?  I’ve never seen him chew on it, but I’m unsure if it is okay to leave him basically ‘unattended’ (ie while I’m sleeping) with it.

Make sure it is 100% cotton or coconut fiber..

Will Zeus eat rug? If yes, then the answer is no, you cannot leave the bathroom rug there while you will sleep.

I’ve never seen him eat/bite/chew on rugs, no.  But that’s not to say he couldn’t start!

Well you can leave 100% cotton or coconut fiber rug in bathroom.

Try give rug to Zeus. Leave the room and come back in every 5 minutes to 10 minutes to see if he will chew on it.

              Every rabbit are different.

My rabbit wont chew anything new carpets or whatever until one month later. He is too smart for people! he study human behaviors and try to notice my roommate and my routines to check on him. When he feel ready to chew things that he always wanted to do, he will chew when we weren’t there. oh boy.

Try to analyze Zeus’s way so you’ll know if it is safe to leave rug for you rabbit.

Yeah when he’s having out of cage time now he has access to the bathroom and rug and he never really bothers the rug.  He prefers to flop out and relax on the tiles in there.
