So today I’m going to post Bandits first week at my apartment since adopting him last Saturday from the Norco Animal Shelter. He has been a very curious and explorative bunny and had times of boldness and excitement, but mostly he likes to lounge around during his non-witching hour times.
His day typically starts at 6-7AM where I change out his water and feed him more hay or pellets if he’s consumed them all. At the moment I’ve tried feeding him some romaine or Khale but he sparsely wants to eat it fresh (washed) and maybe he’s just not interested or ready for them yet. Around 9:45 AM he likes to calm down by retreating to his burrow or most often under a table or my bed for maximum coziness. I don’t mind him under my bed, my only issue is that I don’t want it to become a place where he will go to ignore everyone, so I’m mixed on NIC caging it off or not. When I tried this, he avoided my room completely, and now he will enter and run around as he can escape under the bed (which is hard to get him out of sometimes)
On the 6th day, I made a bold move and picked him up and groomed him for the first time and good a good amount of his undercoat away from him as I don’t want him to have any complications for his Neutering appointment this Wednesday at 8 AM. He was apprehensive about it at first, but it only lasted 15 minutes, and at the last 5 minutes he decided to lay down, and while petting him and words of comfort he enjoyed it, i like to think according to his relaxed position and nose twitches.
Overall it been an exciting first week and I can’t wait for more. I want to post pictures in line with these posts, but my pictures are too HQ for the 500KB limit. So clicking the blue links will take you to my cloud space with picture references. Alternatively, you can click my signature for all of them and the vids. I also do not mind pictures being used for other purposes just shoot me a message so at least I know!
If you guys think I’m doing anything wrong or have any advice or tips in which might address my concerns let me know as it would help!
