Bella, my 2 month old female Dutch has a bald spot on her belly right above her privates. She isn’t acting different and she is energetic, alert and eating/drinking well. What could this mean? I wouldn’t have noticed it but I was examining her (as I am paranoid and do every couple of weeks).  You can’t see it unless you move her fur around. Should I be concerned? Her hair isn’t falling out or anything anywhere else.

How big is he bald spot — it’s not just a thin area of fur? If it’s a really a bald spot, do you notice her licking there often, and is there any redness or irritation?

It’s just right above her privates. It’s not really big but yes, completely bald. She does groom herself often but I haven’t notice her overly grooming there. It’s not at all red or irritated. It didn’t at all bother her when I looked at it. I didn’t notice it until I moved her fur around. I heard that bunnies that are from breeders or petstores could have fleas or other parasites, that’s why I looked. Didn’t find any of that though. It’s just a little bald spot.

My Lop has a bald/thinning area of fur above his privates that is quite noticeable. This is normal for him, however if the spot cages, gets larger, red or irritated looking it’s definetly something to get looked at.

Since you’ve already scheduled a check up, just keep an eye on it for any change to report to the vet. And be sure to point it out at the time of the appointment. sometimes it’s helpful to go to a vet, or even your own doctor, with a list of questions and concerns so you can be sure anything you’ve wondered about over time is checked out. It’s easy to forget once you’re there with a wiggly bunny.
