Evie, my lionhead, has a bald spot on the back of her head, below her ears.  I don’t think she can reach it, so I don’t think she’s pulling it out, but I’m not sure.  She seems to itch at times, and so I checked to see if she has fleas.  I can’t figure out why she might have a bald batch.  Maybe moulting?  She’s 7 month, so maybe she’s losing her “mane”?  Allergies to something?

        Any ideas would be great!

(I’m posting a video of her where you can kind of see the patch.)

it could be a skin irritation. If the area is red or crusty, I’d suggest going to see a vet.

It’s not red or crusty. It’s just bald… no signs of irritation and I’ve never seen her give it any attention. :/

Is it close or on her neck? I find that many of my rabbit’s fur is less dense there for some reason.

My lionhead has the same thing I checked with a breeder and apparently it’s typical?

My lionhead has what sounds like the same thing- on him it almost looks like his mane is falling away from that spot so it looks bald (um, does that make any sense?) Kinda like the part of your hair is what I think of it as….

My little lionhead angora mix Fuzzy had what sounds like the same thing around the same age. He’s a year old now and you can’t tell the bald spot was ever there. As long as it’s not red or crusty and it doesn’t seem to bother/irritate her I wouldn’t worry to much. Just keep an eye on it and it should fill in with time.
