Bailey is acting weird… *Update: water??

I finally got back on Thursday from a two week vacation, and I feel like Bailey is acting strange. She’s a food hog, but she’s been leaving veggies and pellets. In the 8 months I’ve had her, she’s never left food untouched (except for the first time she tried cilantro, lol). She’s also been sitting hunched up and looking a little out of it, but then she’ll suddenly binky away. This morning, she was doing crazy binkies all over the place. I’m just very concerned about her leaving her food in her dish. She’s eating hay and pooping normally. She’s living in a semi-new place- she’s lived here before during my winter break and such, but she’s never acted like this. She’s also eating different veggies (usually she gets dining hall veggies), but again, she’s had veggies from the store and always gobbled them up. I don’t think it’s the weather, because it’s been very nice here in Boston, definitely not too hot. Does this seem like something I should be worried about, or is she just being a diva and trying to get more attention from me?

It’s really hard to say. You know her best. Providing she’s eating, pooping and binkying…well the strange behavior could be due to the move and change in diet. Those are both hard things for anyone, especially a rabbit. So I’d say you know her, let your gut tell you what to do. And keep a close watch if you are going with the ‘wait and see’ method for a day or so.

I’m curious-dining hall veggies -those are from school but they are not cooked veggies are they?

Thanks K&K I’m only working half days this week, so I should be able to keep a close watch on her. I’m sitting with her and Logan on the covered porch right now, and she’s being so silly- running around, demanding grooming from Logan, tickling my feet… makes me wonder if she’s reacting to being stuck in her x-pen for a longer period than usual. She usually has the run of my room for several hours each day, but she didn’t get much playtime until I got back.

The veggies I used to grab from the dining hall were all fresh from the salad bar. We always had plain romaine lettuce, carrots, broccoli, etc. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t even eat cooked stuff

I think I may have found a reason for her behavior! Their water bottles aren’t emptying as fast as usual, so either 1 or both aren’t drinking as much. I’ve been putting fresh water in the bottles daily, and today I gave them a bowl of water, too, even though they usually don’t like to drink from a bowl. I’ve also been giving them wet greens, and today I tried giving her some water in a syringe (she usually thinks that syringe=yummy medicine and gobbles it up), but it didn’t work, and it just dribbled down her chin. Is there a way to tell if she’s dehydrated, and/or ways to get her to drink more? Some flavoring I can put in her water, maybe (that always worked with my horses!)? I’m especially worried because it’s going to be reallllly hot the next few days (almost 100 degrees on Wednesday, eek!).
