Has anyone elses bunny ever accidentally eaten gum?  Mine just did….she found a crumpled up paper with gum tucked in it and ate almost the whole  thing.  I’m watching her very closley because I’m worried it will turn into a blockage if she can’t digest it.  Is this a vet worthy thing or can she get through it naturally?

I have no clue but I would definitely call the vet in the morning.

what’s her status this morning? is she eating, drinking, and pooping normally? i’d suggest you call the vet and ask them if they think this warrants a visit. they might have had this happen to other people and they can tell you what you should do.

She seems to be doing fine this morning. She ate all her food and lots of hay, I haven’t noticed her drink any water but I tend to tune it out on accident sometimes (usually I can hear them drinking water and digging ALL NIGHT! lol) She didn’t get that much gum though. Coincidentally they are going to be at thier vet boarding over the weekend so I will have the Dr. keep a close eye on her.

fyi, Nibbles, the brown bun in the avatar pic is the one who ate it.  She’s usually so well behaved.  You should have seen how confused/excited she was when I discovered her eating the paper with the gum….there was still mint flavor left so she thought she hit the jackpot! lol

Unless she poops a bubble, you should be okey.

                        ROFLMBO Markus!!!!

Nibblebunny, your bun should be O.K., just take the usual precautions of keeping an eye out for anything unusual.

I think that Nibblebunny will be OK, but as the others said, keep a very close watch to make sure she is eating and pooping normally. Markusdark, you are TOO funny! I just scared all my buns by literally LOL’ing for like a straight 30 seconds

y’all crack me up.  Hey does anyone remember the little rascals when (hey wasn’t his name alfalfa)  alfalfa ate some soap and he had hiccups with bubbles floating out his mouth. ahahaa. Thats what came to mind reading the post.                Seriously I hope she is ok.  I remember someone’s bun ate a rubberband. Don’t know what came of it. I remember the bunny slave hadn’t seen it in the poop box for a few days and was really worried too.

OH you know that reminds me…. I used to have this dog named Buster when I was little. He would eat gum and the paper the cupcakes were in. He seemed to be fine. Never had a problem.  Then again buns are different
