So I had recently FINALLY figured out a good “safe house” or “hidey house” for my buns to hide in for safety when they felt they needed to be protected. I was using a square shaped box made out of NIC cubes, covered by cardboard… but last night Sidney (one of my girls) managed to jump the x pen (AGAIN) and I’m concerned she has been using this to help her make her great escapes. We just upgraded to the 48″ x pens also but I really don’t want to put the NIC cube safe house in there with the possibility of her using that to jump out!
I can’t use anything plastic as my buns are VERY big chewers. And would definitely chew and eat the plastic.
I also need something somewhat lower down so she isn’t using it to jump up. I had thought about using the NIC cube and just making a traingle out of the top with the NIC cube parts so it made like a sloped house type thing but my boyfriend had a good point – she used to constantly jump on her cage when she was little that was shaped the same way so she could definitely still use this to her advantage.
Any ideas?
Editing in an add-in: I have tried the typical cardboard boxes (many thicker ones also) and the Tans have them all destroyed in a day or two so those aren’t working out etiher!
