I think I mentioned the other day that Edson for the first time flicked his feet as he ran back to his cage and someone said he was flipping me off!  Ok now he does it every single time he goes back to his xpen!  It’s so weird! Honestly there is not one thing he could be mad about unless he doesn’t like the linoleum under his feet as he trots back but it didn’t bother him before. There’s no weird noise, no animals lurking. Nothing. He comes out of the xpen to check things out into the rest of the office.  I sit down sometimes to pet him which he loves then all of a sudden he runs off flicking his feet!  What does this mean?  Why would he be flipping me off if he is?

hmmm… good question.  could this be edson’s version of ‘hurrah’ instead of ‘get lost you annoying human’?  like maybe its out of friskiness?

Yeh, I mean we understand some ‘bunny language’ on observation, but hey I’m sure there is ‘bunny slang’ hehe !

If he seems happy, he probably is! Maybe he’s just slippy slidy on the lino and running off!

There is a difference! I just gave him his greens and no feet flicking just laps! Of course maybe he is mad that he’s not getting his greens when he’s flicking! I wish he could talk.

Well he could be flicking his feet to remove excess dust – like the front paw flick before cleaning. Or maybe he’s just upset that you don’t have a treat EVERYTIME he comes near you.

Well there is absolutely no dust so I think you’re right he wants a treat every time he comes out! Maybe next time I’ll give him a little treat and see if he goes flicking off!

Perhaps he’s not flicking, but “kicking his heels up” in a happy dancing kind of way

hmm, well it’s usually a sign of disapproval, but that isn’t always the case.

I get the "foot flick" from one of my rabbits everytime she jumps out of the litterbox. I also get a lot of times if I try to pet them, but instead of petting they just want treats!  They like to flick their feet, then turn with their butts facing me… then they cock their heads, and look back, as if to make sure I’m still watching! Big attitudes for such little creatures..

I am always greeted by a Bettie Bean face peering from under the bed when I get in from work, so I get on down there to say my hellos, and what do I get?!……an about turn & a flick of the back feet, and a scurrying back under the bed until later on when SHE decides it’s OK for me to “join them”. Brian will do the same as yours wabbitlove, he’ll appear at the living room door, look in, turn around and flick then scurry off back to the bedroom, stopping midway to make sure he’s being followed.
