You want both options, so a chefs mat in the kitchen, a large rug or mini decorative rugs about, etc would be nice. The ideal and healthiest is at least one place that’s large that’s not slippery at all to facilitate those bursts of energy. Navigating on slippery floors may make your rabbit shift weight somewhat unnaturally and maybe cause some joint issues, not to mention the crashing into walls.
After slamming into the wall a few times, your rabbit will probably learn to slow down. Wick did with my vinyl fake wood floors. He saves binkying and zoomies for the rugs and carpet now. Having rugs at corners can help so there’s a stop place.
Wick also loves lying on it to become cool.
On an owners note, be careful of kicking her. They go flying on slippery floors so their trajectory when running around can be unpredictable. Admittedly, Wick’s been kicked into the wall a few times, and even now there’s the occasional panic of having him get nicked for going between my feet.
