I’m picking up my new baby bunny in about a week, & I’m trying to get things ready for her; getting a little nervous about potty training
I just know I’m going to regret getting a baby again
It’s been a while since I had a baby bunny, but I do remember you’re supposed to put boxes in whatever corner the bunny seems to use the potty & eventually remove 1 box at a time slowly.
So…when I had Mimzy, I had more space for her but atm, my foster bun is taking up the majority of the room & he’s gated on a solid surface. Outside of his cage, I only have carpet which I definitely don’t want the baby peeing all over. Is it typically easier & more accurate potty training to start them off in a smaller area to begin with & gradually increase their space as they get better at the litter box?
My foster bun is just near perfect at using the litter box. He has only had a few stray poops but I’ve had literally zero pee accidents. It would be so amazing to have the same thing with this baby but that might be dreaming…just wondering if anyone has recommendations on better litter training?
Also, I always had to be careful with blankets with Obi & MImzy cuz they always peed on them as a lot of bunnies do. But this foster LOVES blankets & thankfully has never thought they were to pee on. Has anyone ever successfully trained their rabbits not to pee on blankets?
Generally speaking, what sort of setup worked best for you when you were litter training your bun? Post pics if you’d like!
