My baby boy bun (5 weeks+/-) is quite an observant/explorer and a hearty eater. It’s either I see him munching on his food or exploring about his cage; sometimes I see him lounging around his iced water bottle especially when it’s hot, but still very awake (nose twitches) and watching his surroundings.
The only time I would see him in a deep sleep (eyes closed/half closed) and lying spread out on his side is when he’s in my arms or on me — which my boyfriend finds cute but gets annoyed when he wants his turn to cuddle with me!
He ( we’re talking about the bunny from this point on
) let me hold him with his blankie and immediately he gets knocked out. Leads me to think he’s exhausted the whole time or sleep deprived.
I have him on me until he wakes up and starts munching on my clothes, by that time I place him back in his cage to eat his food. I observe him after and he still sits there with his nose twitching. Or sometimes he’s kind enough to scurry off me and pee elsewhere, by that time he must get back into the cage because I get a bit pissed myself since I need to change the sheets in the middle of the night. Most of the time I fall asleep too, when I realize I have a bunny on my chest, he’s still there sleeping.
I’m worried my baby bun isn’t getting enough sleep… is this normal? or i’m just a paranoid mum?
I know I shouldn’t let him get used to this because it might be a problem when he gets older (and I’m not gonna get a decent sleep myself), but I’m such a softie.
Charcoal and me.
