Awww….Lollipop is so freaking cute!

Lolli had to get sutures back around Christmas because she started obessively grooming her dewlap and broken open the skin.  I was told as this was a mental thing, the vet might not be able to get her healed up and we might not get her to stop.  Well…I went home and expanded their pen area, gave her some stuff to tear up and she eventually quit doing that.  I think she was bored.  During this time and for a few months after, I had to pick her up to give her medication and to check her.  I continued to pick her up and check for a couple of months after she completely healed just to make sure she wasn’t opening up any other spots.

Well, I don’t know if it was me handling her so much or what, but in the past 6 months, she has really warmed up to me.   Like I have said before, she will never want to be picked up and she will never be a snuggle bun, but she is letting me gives her nose pets and sometimes lets me stroke the rest of her. 

Today, completely out of the blue, she came out from under the bed, up to me in the hall to beg for treats.  Normally when she begs, she comes out to the living room and periscopes and stares at me. From across the room.  lol   It was so cute and sweet.  She came all the way up to me, out in the open!   So of course she got treats!  lol

I know I’m dork but I can’t believe how much she has warmed up to me.  Normally I am the scum of the earth and it’s “no touching, no talking” and sometimes “no looking”.  LOL

I think so! And when I watch them together and see how much she snubs Eddie sometimes, I think she’s secretly the dominant one. LOL

It’s great that you and your bun are bonding. It’s so funny how some pets like to take things at their own speed. Our lop Oliver is naturally very friendly, but one of my hedgehogs, Lily, was very withdrawn and frightful until she gradually started coming out of her shell. I’ve had her for about three months now, and every day I bring her out for playtime we make another little break through. She will never like to be held and cuddled like my other hedgie, but they are individuals after all.

And……we’re back to no touching. LOL Oh well. At least I know she doesn’t hate me. From all the stuff I had to do – give medications and stuff – I figured she hated me and would never like me (technically be scared of me forever).
