Craisin was on a date with Rocky when she started humping him which she has never done, and they started like they were gonna fight cuz Rocky wants to be alpha and get groomed and I grabbed her realy quick, saw what looked to be a penis then there they were….yup she is a he. I don’t know how I am gonna manage any bonding and who with who…..Wilbur still has his hormones it’s week 3 since the neuter…I’m almost wondering if I should bring them to the bunny rescue as it’s getting to be a bit much and now I’ll need another cage and there is just no room. I love them all but I have to think of them too. This place does foster homes until homes ar found and i would say i’d do that but space and spraying and who knows if any others will turn out the opposite sex but I’m pretty sure they others were old enough to tell. Humph,,,,,,obviously I would keep my rocky and would like to keep one of them to bond to him but who? Wilbur just want to hump craisin so i can’t put them back together for craisin would get raped for the next couple weeks and they would more then likely fight….grrrr……I may have gotten in over my head with buns but at least they did not become snake food and are all loved.

i rescued them a couple of months ago from potential snake food which is what they were suppose to be with the intention of finding them all homes and keeping 1 to bond to my rocky. I have 1 that is going to my neighbor once the hormones from her bun dies out from the neuter which will leave me with 4 (1 that was orginally mine). Wilbur who I absolutly adore seems like he is trying to have pee wars with rocky from across the room which is wonderful, i know wilbur has a couple of weeks before his hormones die out as well. Will that stop or does he forever not like rocky? Seems like Mimzie & craisin would bond with rocky just fine but I have to  get craisin neutered now. i’m not quite as stressed as I sounded in the first part of the post though. I just got a little flustered last night. Still not sure how it’s gonna work out, i guess just wait & see….I’d keep them all if space and $ wasn’t an issue.

Gosh Amy I’m sorry to hear about the trouble.  But look at one tiny bright side, at least a neuter is less than a spay. Can you stack the cages at all to minimize the floor space they take up?  You could make a NIC cage, mulitple level and one level for each rabbit.  Then after they are homed, you can take out panes for one really cool cage for Rocky & mate.

Are you just frustrated about the sexing of them and the bonding or is cleaning and space becoming an issue?  Sometimes us humans need a time out too to just sit, read and have a cup of chamomile tea.

Wilbur is currently stacked on the other 3’s cage then there is Rocky’s cage. Cleaning is somewhat of an issue but there is no floor space for them to run around hardly. I may have found a home for my precious Wilbur though, I’ve been talking with this woman today and she is looking to get a bonding mate for her spayed rabbit, and seems to know her stuff and wilbur would have a room with his mate and have the house when the parents are home to supervise. So as much I love him and am most attached to him that seems like a better deal for Wilbur, craisin and Mimzie seem to like Rocky so maybe I will keep them together.  I don’t even know where to put craisin right now to be honest. I wish I could keep him with Rocky or Wilbur but that would be pushing it to soon. yes tea relaxation…all sound great….I should try that some time!

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with rabbits – and if you feel like you’ve found a nice home for Wilbur, I think that would be good for him and for you considering the current situation But things will get easier I’m sure, especially when you can start bonding some of them and can get more of them into the same cage! Good luck with your potential adopter and with all of the bonding.

Well it wounds like Wilbur has a great potential home.  I would give it a go and see if it can work, even though he is your favorite (next to Rocky of course). Oh yes, you must try some herbal tea therapy, it works wonders. Take care of yourself and my it sounds like you’ve got the cages stacked as high as is safe and what you can access for cleaning.  Can you let them rum in the bathroom or at least put them in there while you clean?
