Awesome Two Floor Bunny House!

My family used to have chickens, but we moved them out, leaving us with a beautiful red house thing for my Comet!!

House:

The bottom part of his house is around a meter long and 45cm wide.
It’s lined with wire with squares in it, and there are a few red wood beams at the bottom. In the back of his house we have his summer water bottle, and some straw for his day naps. About 35cm into his house, you’ll see that there is a ramp like thing made of wood and painted red with some white lines for grip so he doesn’t slip. That’s how he gets upstairs! His upstairs is around half a meter long andjust under half a meter wide. He has two windows, and two doors that are only accessible from the outside. He also has the door leading down to the floor. His bed is up there. Outside of his house is a few sheets of fabric to keep out snow and wind for the cold seasons. Outside his little front door we put a dog fence thing that I got at a garage sale for 5$. We joined it to one we already had and made an awesome 3x2m thing for him to run in at day time. His winter bottle is out there (it’s heated)

He doesn’t really seem to like his home that much though, any thoughts on why or how I can make it more homey for him?

Wire with squares in it as flooring– can you specify if this is all wiring grid, or there’s some solid floor for your rabbit?

I think it’d take a while for any rabbit to acclimate to a larger, “cave” environment, especially if it still has chicken scent. I’d double check it’s all clean (I use diluted vinegar spray for wood). It may help to rub a few small towels on your rabbit to pick up scent, then put them in some locations around the place so it seems more like his territory; I did this with Wick’s carrier and he loves it.

I’d give him more time. I’m quite terrible at spacial visualization, so I’m not sure of the layout (you described it very well, I’m just bad), but make sure there are some books and crannies your rabbit will feel safe in. Sometimes a large house has no hidey spots for his security!
