I got a link on bunnies and went to read it.  A young girl has rabbits.  They breed.  They bring all but 2 babies to the humane society.  After they have purposefully bred these rabbits.  The Mom said they had to go.

The young girl has some she is keeping  . Then she breeds them again!!!!

Another of her buns has 2 broken hind legs an accident with her older brother.  Apparantly this bunny was never taken to the vet to wrap  or set the leg so it would heal properly.  The girl on her site says bunny shuffles to get around.   I don’t know  maybe it needed pins in the legs and was too expensive.  But at least wrap it.

Now that is seriously pathetic.  Why keep breeding if you are not able to find homes for them and send them to humane society.  And not get proper care for the one with the broken hind legs.

People are so strange and uncaring it seems like.  Maybe it is the parents?  Who knows.

        Bangs head on wall.

That is very frustrating. The parents are definitely at fault here as well, they should have stepped in LONG ago.
It’s so hard to hear about poor, helpless animals in such horrible conditions. How very selfish of these people. Poor buns

I agree – that is sad. Seems like mom is taking enough responsibility to ensure that her daughter is being responsible.

I recently got an email too from a person whose daughter had gone to vet tech school and raised 5 rabbits for them which I honestly could not understand and was looking for a home for them (5 of them). I told him that if this was part of some (irresponsible) project the school had mandated they should be helping her find them homes – I didn’t get a reply back to find out. I sure thought it was ODD though.

Sounds like what happened here in Waco several weeks ago. A mom, dad and litter of babies wound up at the waco shelter. At the same time I saw them on petfinder, a friend came back to ask if I’d seen them. A friend of her’s had a daughter who raised them for a 4-h project and got tired of them so she took them in.

My friend was kidding around about I should go get them and I think I said something not very nice. It just burns me up. I think someone is fostering mom and babies, but dad’s pic is still up for adoption. The original description talked about how totally unsocialized they were.

              ;-(

Sad.  Maybe the Mom should get them spneutered or keep only 1 gender so no more litters show up.  Awe the 4Her sad too.

I had lost mine as a child when my parents divorced.  I was heartbroken. Mom wouldn’t let me keep even Mister in the house.

I never lost interest in them fortunately.  Though my bro had to help me with them.  Even though I still lost them. I dont’ remember what happened to them if Dad butchered them or Mom gave them to some rabbittry.  I remember going to the rabbitry and trying to find Mister so I think thats what happened to them. They went back to the rabbitry.

I could always ask my Mom.

You know for years I had dreams off n on about those rabbits. I dreamed of the house and rabbit pen we used to have and that I forgot to feed them and stuff.   More like a nightmare.  Or I would be rushing home from school to feed and water them and bring Mister in the house.

Now that I have housebuns those dreams have stopped. Thank Allah for that.
