Please meet our new family members, names not yet decided…
These two buns were left at PetsAtHome when their previous owners decided that buns weren’t the right pets for them. I guess at least this is better than leaving them to live feral, like Gina, Jenny and Podge all were. The nethie is a boy, the lop is a girl, both altered, they are thought to be around two years old.
The newbies are going crazy !!!! Not only is Aug birthday month it’s going to be Gotcha month too !!!!! You sneaky GJ you…..
they are adorable.
She absolutely looks like a ” Crunchie ” !!
And he ” Buttons ”
Crunchie and Buttons…. perfick !!!
Or maybe Galaxy n Snickers?
Oh wow ! Congrats G.J ! They are beautiful !!!
How are the others taking to the Newbies?
Lots of initial curiosity, which gave way to nap time.
Lol. Well… we’re excited here at least!
The boy definitely looks like a Galaxy
and a buttons
I think buttons is the best
They are both adorable!! congrats!!
I love the coloring on her (Snickers)
And he rocking the side profile (Buttons)
my votes
Minstrel and Snickers have been given a bit more space now they are settled from the journey, and are enjoying a good explore
Snickers is a sausage dog….. it will get confusing !!!! Lol. She could be a “Sparkle” too with those explosions of colours….
He could be a Pippin too…. ” Pip ”
She actually could be “Adele” too… ![]()
Just realised the girl is a tri-colour. Since there seems to be a food name theme here, I want to suggest Cookie for her.
Her coat is like Cookie dough. Cookie Doe!
Where did Adele come from? Lol !
I guess her other girl-buns do have people names, so Adele is fitting.
Oops/ I missed the names above. Minstrel and Snickers. GJ, you’ve named them now?
Minstrel and Snickers seem to feel ‘right’, we can’t have a Pippin when we already have Pippi VB!
Me too I missed it…!!. Cookie is brill. i LOVE the name cookie for any animal.
SO I vote Cookie and Chip (Chocolate chip!!!!!!).
Inspired !!!![]()
They are beautiful! Congrats to you and the bunnies! Their previous owners were clearly crazy (and not the good kind of crazy, like me
) . Who wouldn’t want a couple of gorgeous buns like that?
They are adorable!!! I like the name Minstrel. Snickers is Moxie’s dog, but we can of course have a Snickers bun as well
Lucky bunbuns! I hope Jenny won’t hate them too much
Looking forward to hearing more about them!!!
Oh my goodness! They are so stinking cute!
How exciting, and two very lucky bunns to have found a home with you.
What!? I go to bed and THIS happens overnight??
OMG, they are so adorabun! Love love love. Congratulations! Their ridiculous owners’ loss is so totally your gain.
Welcome to BB, Minstrel and Snickers. Mmm… I want chocolate, now. LOL
I just HAD to come back and look at your two newbies again. Cuuuuuute! ![]()
Pets at home advise only 10 minutes of grass time the first time out, to avoid upset tums, but it was too nice a day to keep a bun in, so to limit grass I put them in an A frame in a part of the garden where the grass had already been eaten really short, so they could stay out as long as every bun n pig else without risking eating loads of grass.
Minstrel is moulting really heavily, he’s going to need daily grooms for some days yet!
He is starting to get settled and curious, Snickers is very timid still
Oh my! They fit in perfectly in your gorgeous family.
6 buns GJ, I both envy you and applaud you!
They really are adorabuns
Lucky lucky little sweethearts. 6 buns and 2 pigs ![]()
They’re so cute
I just wanna hug them. And they’re lucky, that’s for sure!
Minstrel did two binkies during evening floor time
he found the stairs, but thought they looked a bit high for him ![]()
Then it was pellet and toy time
Binkies make my heart glad. ![]()
Minstrel and Snickers have just gone back out into the A-frame for their second time getting grass and clover under paw and in mouth
It is clear these two have seldom been handled. Both were really skittish when we first saw them, and getting them into a box to come home was seriously not easy. Minstrel is settling down quite well, and tolerated a second, and much more thorough groom last night. He is allowing gentle head rubs already. Snickers is still scared of her own shadow, and the softest brush has just lightly passed over her a couple of times for now til she calms down. She is making some progress though. I just went back out in the garden to see how they were. She stopped eating, thought about bolting to the inside section of the run, then decided to carry on chomping, though ready to dash if I moved any closer.
On a big plus, both buns have done all their lighter business in the hay box. I was a little concerned there wasn’t a single puddle left anywhere, but when I cleaned the box this morning, the puppy training pad in the base was nice n wet. Poops are still little peppercorns, and most but not all were in the hay box. Hopefully a few days of grass n floor time will get the size and shapes improving, plus it should help them slim down, as both are overweight. Their previous owner had kept them in a hutch, on a diet of rabbit muesli. PetsAtHome had already switched them to pellets, and sent them home with complementary sample bags of hay and pellets, so they can transition gradually to what we use.
I left the blue tunnel in with them overnight and a few peeks showed that they were having lots of fun running through it and using the middle entrance as a lookout midway
Awwwwwwwwww ![]()
I want to be a bunny adopted by you. ![]()

I wonder if the old owners got them for Easter, my boy was an unwanted Easter bunny, how can someone get an animal or animals and give them away?
I’m not sure Brits buy bunnies for Easter… do they? I’ve never really heard of that before?….
(we just eat the chocolate kind !……
)
Pretty sure Gina, Jenny and Podge are all last Easters babies who became unwanted adolescents. PetsAtHome stated they would not sell any baby buns over the Easter Weekend this year, so I think sadly many people here do buy them as cute balls of fluff, with no idea of what they are taking on.
Oh bum – idiots ! ![]()
Shame we’re not all Buddhists. ![]()
GJ, just saw this! How exciting! How many buns does that make now? 5? 6? You’re almost caught up with us lol! ![]()
