I have noticed that sometimes my bunnies will lay across one another like the boy will lay down and then the girl bunny will lay across him making a plus sign shape. Sometimes it is the other way around, is this some kind of dominance testing or are they just being snuggle bunnies. Sorry I am asking so many questions.\

That’s sounds more like snuggling to me. Usually humping is a sign of dominance (and it can be the female humping the male or vice-versa) or grooming (usually the dominant rabbit is the one who gets groomed).

I agree, I think they are snuggling as well. My two will also do this when one is laying in the "prime" spot in their cage and the other one will not budge, so they end up laying on each other. I cannot figure out for the life of me why they both have the same favorite spot. Don’t be sorry for asking questions!

hmm, i was pretty sure laying like that was also a sign of dominance – but i could be wrong.

I have heard of people placing bunnies intentionally like that to help with bonding, but have not ever experience my bunnies laying like that intentionally. WHen my bunnies snuggle it is usually side by side – however I have seen some cute pictures of bunnies snugggling like that. When they lay like that are they very calm? Or does one seem to be irritated by the other one on top?

Yeah, after watching them continuously I am starting to lean toward a dominance thing cause they seem to switch places back and forth, but they never stay in that position long. But I do not know cause as of late, they are just a little super crazy. The boy rabbit especially he must be in his teenager stage he is like super destructive and like ADHD or something cant sit still cant stop chewing and running around. even when I let him out for hours he is still not tired out it is crazy. I can’t wait for him to be ready for being neutered

well running around and acting bonkers is kinda normal for bunnies, but it could be more severe due to his hormones. I always kinda feel like they’re running rampant making bunnies crazy until they get neutered.   But the destructivness will hopefully  decrease after the neuter.

also – my bunny viktor will occassionally lay across his girlfriend pandora.

Before the neuter, my boy buns were the same way, running around like SILLY. Then, after the netuer, they do about 5 bunny 500’s around the room, and then lay down and sleep for a couple hours – then a few binkies – then a nap- and that has pretty much become their routine

I don’t know that I’ve seen exactly that, but it sounds like snuggling to me. Usually dominance involves feet stomping, urine spraying, maybe even shaking the cage or of course humping.
