Yes, that is fine. No pine or cedar shavings, but aspen shavings are perfectly safe for Tonks.

I am not sure where you live, but as an inexpensive alternative (I’m not sure how much the Kaytee brand is) – you could try “Lone Star Bedding” which is a product sold at feed stores. It is a type of bedding that goes in horse stalls to absorb wetness so that the horses don’t have to stand in a damp stall. It is only about $6 for a 50 lb. bag, and does a great job of absorbing odors.

I live in Indiana. Thanks for the heads up Moo!  A great big bag from petsmart is like 11$ I can’t remember how many pounds!

Oh that sounds like a good deal to me- but keep that in mind for the future if you need to save some $$ for extra rabbit toys

I just bought two 40 lb sacks of a similar product called “Barn Dry”.  It is made by the same company that makes the Atlas brand of wood stove pellets.  It seems OK so far, just started using it.

Is this what you got Osprey?  Are you still doing the Aspen Supreme?  I cannot find that where I live – I use the Lone Star Bedding which I do like.

That is the one.  I still use the Aspen in the smaller, less frequently changed boxes that are up high in the condo (these are closest to the seating areas of the family room and most likely to smell)  I useh the horse bedding in the big box that gets changed more often.
