  I put Ruby in with Cotton again. They were fine so I go online here. I look over and see Cotton humping Ruby. Sometimes makes me wonder if he really is neutered. Tho I know he is.
  
  I made a big noise so he stopped. Then they go under my table. and at it again. GRRRR So I went to get Ruby and held her for a while. I have to sit with them still when I have her over. Ruby doesn’t make a fuss over it but gosh I don’t like it.

  as long as he’s not doing it the wrong way and she is not getting angry, it’s okay to let it continue for a little bit. the sooner they work out the dominance issues, the sooner they will be able to be housed together permanently, and the humping will decrease or stop altogether.

  agh I will just have to put up with it. I have been afraid of his privates being bitten. She shows no interest in biting him tho.
  
  A friend rescued some Dutch buns. One had been bitten on his privates and was infected. HE got vet treatment. This is what made me scared for him.
  
  Ruby just sits there when he humps her. Doesn’t bite or seem angry. She is such a little dainty sweetie.

  only intervene if she gets visibly mad or if he is humping her head and not the… “right end”. let it go on for about 20 seconds or so before separating them.

  I am trying to bond my fixed boy and fixed girl together, what does humping the head mean in bunny terms?

  they just get confused. humping the head can cause the private parts of the humper to get bitten by the humpee which can lead to infection and costly vet visits. if you notice them humping the wrong way, push the humper off right away.

  Hi Bunnytowne,
  I can relate to the humping problem- my boy Ludicrous was obsessed with humping his new wifey, Nelli, at first. And he ALWAYS humped her head- just couldn’t get it right, the poor guy! So I was constantly a wreck, chasing him around yanking him off, sure that he was gonna be minus his privates by the end of the bonding. Nelli was like your girl Ruby though- very goodnatured.
  It also freaked me out that Lude would latch onto Nelli with his teeth while humping- I know this is a natural “bunny hold” while they are mating, but since he was mounting her head, he would grab a hunk of fur right on her fuzzy little butt! No wonder she hates having her behind brushed- probably thinks I’m gonna bite her .
  The good news is, 2 weeks later, my two are fully bonded and the humping has stopped. I was lucky to have them bond so quickly, I know, but I bet Cotton will give up the humping once he realises that he is The Man- lol. Good luck with them!

  generally should you let them just hump if they are both fixed to get it out of their systems?

  like i said above, humping is fine as long as the humpee is not getting angry and aggressive and they are not humping in the wrong direction. still, you’ll want to maybe break it up if it goes longer than 20-30 seconds.

  But I can relate BT, I get tired of it too. And honestly, Pip simply will not stop and always the wrong end. I think Mim just puts up with it but is visibly distressed afterwards.
  
  I think I have three solitary, spoiled bunnies. No one wants to be bottom bunny.
