so after turning in my rabbits fecal kit (to check for internal parasites) i also included cecals and the normal poop. or what i thought were cecals anyway, the doctor looked at them and said that those were simply “small” poops and not cecals. however these are really mushy/sticky and have a very bad odor to them! they are always like this and not in the weird long ovalish shape – however i did find one like that. are these cecals or just small stools? she is 9 weeks old and her diet consists of oxbow alfalfa pellets with orchard grass and oat hay – all unlimited and fresh water of course. she is “litter trained” she pees in her litter box all the time, but sometimes she will poop outside of it which is fine since she is so young
but let’s say she’s sleeping the corner of her cage for a couple of hours, after she gets up there will be a little pile of these poops – sometimes they will be mushed and some stick to her fur in which case i have to flip her over and gently remove them which she hates and often scratches me in the process. but other times they are just scattered all through out her cage like in the picture. what should i do? her normal poops are fine – in fact there is one normal stool in the shadow of my hand near the bottom of the picture
