About a year ago I purchased a few devices to help get rid of my mouse problem within my home.  One device sends random pulses through the wiring in my wall and the others send out high pitched sounds (too high for humans to hear) to drive out the mice.  These devices work well.  We acquired our bunny only a few months ago and I remember the owners manuals to these devices said something about not using them in homes with rodent type pets such as hamsters, guinea pigs, etc.    Are rabbits bothered by these devices.  She seems comfortable and pleasant.  She roams around the house fine.

I just don’t know enough yet about rabbits and don’t want her to be disturbed by high pitched sounds or pulses.

Thank you in advance for any insight.

I really don’t know the answer to that one.  I am glad to hear they work.  Buns are lagomorphs not rodents.   However they are in the  small pet category so I would be inclined to think it would refer to buns too.

We had a post about this a while back.  Let me see if I can find it for you.

I went to the green bar where forums my profile  search members are.  I went to search and put ridex in there. Nothing came up.  I wonder if I am putting the wrong name in the search bar.    Perhaps you can go to search and put the name of the product and it might show you where the previous post on this subject is.

Or someone else may know what it that post is listed under.  Or you can put it’s name in here and names of similar products so hopefully we can find it for you.

I beleive the decision was not to use it.  I personally would have no idea how to tell if it is bothering your bunny.   Also perhaps go to the manufacturers website and email them about it.

Yup we found that they shouldn’t be used around rabbits, they can certainly hear them and they probably annoy bunnies as much as mice

Thank you to all that gave me some insight.  We wouldn’t want to put Daisy in an uncomfortable environment.

I just saw this thread, so excuse my lateness. I use to have those pest repellers in my home and my bunnies were not bothered by them. However, they were not used anywhere near them. I had one in my kitchen and one in my bathroom. I don’t use them anymore since I didn’t think they worked all that well.  I had a serious ant problem.

Read the package of the product as there are many designs. Some will say that they should not be used around cats or dogs and if that is the case, do not use around your rabbits.

You are right about reading about not using them around “rodent” pets and I briefly had one near my first rabbit Trixie and she was bothered by it so I bought the newer model that only repelled insects. The one that repels mice from what I understand is not good for rabbits to be around.
