I’ve looked on the list of bunny yes and no food, but it’s listed on neither. Since we let Chloe roam wherever she wants, I’m worried she might eat some. We don’t want to fence her off from the living room since we’re spending a lot of our time there and she loves to hop around us when we’re on the couch. We also don’t want to put a fence in front of our beautiful tree…. I’m hoping it’s not super bad if she ate a needle or two, but we don’t want to take the chance!

No pine needles are not poisonous, so you don’t have to worry about that. I did read that the pine needles are rather sharp and so if a bunny doesn’t chew them all the way, it can cause tearing.  I talked to my vet about this and though she agreed it was a possibility, it would not be that common as bunnies chew them up.  I think the real dangers come from all the other things that are on the tree, like christmas light wires, tinsel, the water dish that many people put the tree preservative in, etc, etc.

Here is a link to a recent discussion on how to protect your tree. https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tab…fault.aspx
