        Hi all

Update from my last post. The triplets we were initially fostering have now become part of the family, haha.

I just need some advise on if you think my rabbits would be considered “bonded”.

Pops (my OG bun) has free range of the whole house, the triplets have a pen set up in a spare room which they are in when i’m at work and asleep. After a few weeks/months, they’ve worked up to having free range of the house together when i’m at home and able to supervise. They all get along and enjoying being together (they had a few scuffles and humping at first as expected). Pops is usually sitting next to their pen when I wake up, almost like he’s waiting for them to get let out to play.

Pops and the triplets eat together, there hasn’t been any fights, maybe a little nip here or there. They all nap together but not squished together and they groom each other.

Although spending a lot of time together, they haven’t spent the night together. Would you consider them bonded enough to spend the night?

        Thanks everyone!

How old are the triplets and have they been spayed and neutered?

it’s hard to say since we didnt know their age when we first got them, around 5-6 months old? they’re not desexed yet. they’re all females (pops is a desexed male), we’ve been to a few vets, our local and one that specialises in rabbits, they’ve both recommended waiting a bit longer due to their size. the heaviest out of the triplets only weighs 1.2kgs at most.

initially we weren’t going to let them have any interaction until they were desexed (for bonding reasons and since they were only meant to be a foster) but they kept escaping fromt the pen and i’d constantly find them all hanging out together. no matter how many alterations we’ve made to the pen, they’ve still always managed to get out. so that’s when we decided to just let them play together since whatever we do doesn’t seem to stop them. haha.
