This is sort of a silly problem but I wondered if there was anything I could do for my bunny with changes in his toys or anything…
Since the day I got Apollo he’s never been fond of hidey holes, digging or chasing other than a quick run around with me on the carpet even before he was neutered, but I see him constantly going after things to chew them such as wires, furniture, boxes, etc. He will sometimes pull apart carpets (ones I’ve bought for him not expensive ones) and dig those but not often and it’s not as destructive as the other problem…
With the chewwing, I’ve tried offering him wooden sticks (bought from pet stores), gotten bunny chew-toys and things that would look fun for him to chew and even offered him toilet paper rolls and other bits of cardboard that he can shred as he pleases, but it doesn’t seem to deter him at all from the wires even when they’re blocked or covered. He knows he’s not supposed to chew the wires as if I snap my fingers and say ‘Hey!’ he flicks his head and scoots away, but I turn my back for a moment and he’s right back to it. He’s fairly laid back, he tends to lay around and doze or take cuddles, he’ll sometimes get spurts of energy where he’s binkying and chasing but that’s it.
I’ve tried to offer him more toys, tried to distract him and tried a variety of different toys (treat logs, wooden sticks, fruity-chew sticks, little balls of hay or wood). Is there any toys you can suggest to help stop him from chewing my wires and furniture? I want to make sure he has something to entertain him so he’s not making himself sick or hurting himself with chemicals in the furniture wood or shocking himself…
