There were some puppies left on my doorstep this morning. No momma dog so they are being bottlefed and my dog Cocoa has became a surrogate mother with cleaning them and keeping them warm. There are 2 boys and 1 little girl cute as cute can be and their hair feels like velvet. They according to the not so nice note left with them were born last night. So they will be with me until at least 8 weeks and I find them great homes where someone won’t dump them like their first home did.
I of course have pictures from right after I found them
Boy 1 weighs 7 oz
Boy 2 also weighs 7 oz
Little Girl weighs just over 6 oz
They are now huddled up in a crate in my ferret room snoozing away
Oh, my word! Poor little munchkins. Where is mama, I wonder?
Oh, and my first thought when I read the title of this post was “OF COURSE WE LIKE PUPPIES!!” lol
So cute! I’m so glad you took them in! If would so steal one from you if I could!
Lol they are soooo soft! They are definitely not a day old though like their note said though but still cruel no matter their age. They may be with me awhile since people around where I live think all animals should be outside tied to a chain so it will be difficult finding them homes I approve of

No idea the note that was left said he was giving the mom dog away and the person didn’t want the puppies it’s just cruel. I know when my dog had her only oops litter if you touched her puppies she freaked out so I can imagine that poor momma dog when he/she took her puppies away for good.
Poor things, thats so cruel to the mama too.
Aww, what cuties.
Some people, grrrrrr.
You must be know as the neighborhood animal lover softie when they knew to pick your porch.
OMG, what is WRONG with people??
The little girl looks like my Pika puppy that was the youngest of Taiku’s litter. She I had not wanted to give up, but we had a full ship at the time.
*lip tremble* It’s not fair. We’ve just spent so much trying to keep that old boy alive and some idiot goes and dumps three perfectly good puppies because he/she’s a jerk.
Animals sure get a bum rap in this world.
Thank you so much for taking them in Sonn. I will keep my fingers crossed and prayers going that good homes come for them.
Here’s some rocket science: If you don’t want puppies; SPAY YOUR DOG!!!!!!
On another note….aw, cute little buggers!!! Any guess as to what breed(s) they are? They kind of look like furry little piglets!!
I’m no expert but they look suspiciously like mastiff mixed pups too me.
Sonn, I am so ‘proud’ of you (in a forum way) that you took this litter in!
–Where I live it is disgusting, too, people invariably keep animals in the most neglectful ways and even at minus forty still chained up. At my local landfill there is a spot called the ‘dog dump’, you know for what. You can find entire live litters of newborn pups there.
It would be impossible to know the breeds in these guys at that age. The unpigmented areas make me think maybe there is some Staffordshire/APBT in them. Plus, they tend to have smaller litters and can have the masks, silky-smooth coat and the pink noses, or liver ones like boy #1..
They are cute! What a rotten person to do this although I’m certain they are WAY better with you although I feel sad for the Momma dog too. Seems like the person who dumped these little dumplings on you must know you love animals.
I agree they are more than a day old- when you hit some type of aging “landmark” like the eyes opening- that will give you a better clue on their age.
Puppies look very “generic” when they are born in regards to body shape, etc- so it is really hard to guess what possible breed (s) at this point- but once they are bigger and have more developed features it should be easier to guess.
Thank goodness for you! How could someone dump puppies?!? That is terrible and the poor momma dog is probably sad and confused! I hate to see dogs tied outside, that is no life. Unfortunately, the town were I live thinks differently and think that is acceptable
I am glad your dog is being a surrogate mom. Animals are kind and caring just like people can be, well some of them I guess. *Hugs to you, Cocoa, and the little puppies*
Oh my goodness. So cute!! They’re so lucky that a nice person like you found them and is able to care for them. Do you think you’ll keep any of them? I can’t wait to see more pics as they grow up!
Ahh, how could someone do that??? That just makes me sick to my stomach. I’m so glad it happened to be your door step! You will have to keep us updated with pictures and everything, poor little babies! sniff* That’s so wonderful of you to keep and care for them! And what a nice do you must have to help!
Puppies are doing great today all fed through the night with no issues and then Cocoa promptly let my other dogs know these are hers and not to come near them lol she even kept trying to steal them as I was feeding them. If I didn’t still live with my mom I would definitely keep one or all of them but she is already mad cause I have dogs in the first place so that probably wouldn’t go over well.
Sonn, can you get a Humane Society in your area to do a courtesy listing on Petfinder for you?
Yes, that would be good – you can also post them yourself on the Petfinder’s classified.
So how is Ms. Marshmallow doing?
AHHHHHHHH so cute!!!!
and
AHHHHHHHH what horrible people
I guess lucky they put them on someone’s door step, then somewhere else. I can’t imagine how upset mom is.
Thank you for taking them in!!
No shelter or anything like that around here does petfinder, spays, neuters, advertising adoptables. Basically here you walk in fill out a paper and pick a pet pay $30 then if you don’t want it bring it back and fill out another paper for a different pet.
Marshmallow is doing great right now she and Pacey are chasing one of my dogs around the kitchen because he stole a piece of their Romaine lol

yup, I hear you. In my county you get the dogs free, anyone who can walk in can take one home. Neutering is still not practiced either.
Maybe I didn’t explain enough my idea. I thought you could contact, in writing, any rescue group that is in your State within reasonable distance that has a Petfinder account and ask if they would do a courtesy listing. I had a stray dog that I found listed with a shelter 6 hours away from me.

hey Sonn! BTW — I’m not trying to tell you what to do here… just throwing around ideas!
Oh don’t worry about that! I am always open to ideas lol Not too worried about finding them decent homes I have had a fair amount of luck finding stray dogs and cats new homes when they are dropped at my house.
Well, then I think whoever did the deed of dumping these pups on you sort of hit the jackpot.
Sonn you are awesome!
Oh my gosh, they are so darn cute! And you are such a wonderful person for taking those little guys in. I would LOVE to have one, but not knowing what breed they are, and then hearing some other people saying mastiff or something… apartment living doesn’let me have a doggy that big, unfortunately. =( post lots and lots of pictures and keep us all updated on their progress/the home search!
Um, it’s been 3 whole days, I think more pictures are in order!!!
*poke* Furface is right! More pictures are needed. I know, you’re busy with the little bundles of joy and poop. But even if you don’t put them up right now you should be taking tons of pictures so you can share them with us later.
Lol I am planning to take a few in the morning after I feed them I will post them =P
Not much has changed they gained 1/2 oz lol and the little girls nose is going from pink to brown (look over the dog hairs it is shedding time and my vacuums can’t keep up)
First all 3 of them together Boy Girl Boy
My favorite boy he was already growling at me!
Boy 2 love his little squished up face
Little girl obviously doesn’t appreciate the camera
Girl
My Gizmo is petrified of puppies but very curious at the same time so she sniffs them then runs away (girl)
Ears up eyes wide then she bolted lol (girl)
Aww!
Very sweet
They’re precious! And so are you! I hate that people take advantage of your love for dogs but I’m happy these ones have you looking out for them all the same.
I can not get over how much the girl looks like the runt of my sainted Dusty’s litter. Just seeing her takes me back 12 years! I had to hand feed her and tore off the sleeves of sweatshirts to roll her up in (the wristband of the sleeve would fit gentle and snug around her neck and head and the open end was easily rolled back in case of accidents) and would carry her around on my arm. I wasn’t able to find a home for her myself, because she was so protective of me, she’d growl at anyone who came up to us, so my husband rehomed her for me. It was a sad day, because I’d wanted to keep her so badly.
I sure hope you don’t have three husky/lab mixes on your hands, ’cause they’re going to be BIG.
So precious! And your other pup being scared off by them…too funny! ^_^
I have enough animals so I am glad I live far away from you, Sonn. I love this litter, I’d take anyone if I could.
I only find it sad that I am so used to people tossing dogs, cats, ferrets, guinea pigs etc. in my yard or over my fence (not a good idea since I have a dog aggressive dog and a few high prey driven dogs) that I have actually stocked up on things I need for them! My vet even ended up showing me how to do a quick suture and how to properly deliver puppies in case I cannot make it to the vet in time. But am glad they left them here instead of the shelter here where they would have been immediately euthanized.
My mom just better be glad I live with her or I know I would have at least 1 if not all 3 new additions to my family lol. But she would most likely murder me if I even suggested keeping them LOL
But I love all animals so I have no issues taking them in patching them up and finding them the best homes possible. The weirdest one I would say is walking out to my mailbox and finding a bag of water with a calico fantail goldfish inside.
lolz… Jeez, sounds like you should put up a shingle! (and maybe charge a ‘donation’ fee!) ^_^ If someone would even leave a goldfish at your mailbox, then it’s pretty well assumed you are the person to come to with unwanted pets!
Yes, it is sad that it is the norm for you, if only that there’s no excuse for people thinking that animals are so disposable.
Thank you for taking care of them though. I have no doubt they’ll have good homes eventually thanks to you!
A goldfish in your mailbox? Wow….that is weird! You are such a great person and those puppies look great and well-cared for! I am sure you will find good homes! Maybe an ad in your local paper? I live in PA and if I lived closer, I would help you more
Puppies are a little over a week old now and are so fat lol. I haven’t weighed them but I can no longer fully put 2 fingers around their bellies. I had to create a barrier of sorts in the crate opening so Cocoa can still get in and out but I don’t have to play let’s find the puppy every few hours.
Well they are starting to get some features and look like something instead of just little dumplings.
Yeah they are. They are so adorable! Starting to wonder around even though their eyes haven’t opened lol the little girl clings to cocoa and follows her around by sticking to her leg. I will be trying to name them soon (I don’t like for things to leave here without a name even if their new owners rename them).
The next pictures will come when their eyes open up or they do something unbelievably adorable.
*gently pokes Sonn* Sticking to Cocoa’s leg isn’t adorable?? lolz….
A new picture of the girl puppy at least? Please? Okay…maybe the boys too. You’re safely far enough away I can’t come down and get one (besides hubby would kill me and we’ve sworn no more dogs anyway) but with the recent loss of one of my dogs, I’d sure love to see some precious puppiness to cheer me up. *smiles sweetly*
Pweeeeze?

Pweeeeze?
Sorry about your doggy!
Eyes are opening so far the one boy has both eyes open and the little girl has one eye open. I will post some pictures later today. They are super fat right now lol and starting to get fuzzy hair all over them.
ok so it’s “later today” where are those pix!?
lol sorry for the lack of pictures my camera refused to work today
awww boo! ok… (working camera vibes!) hehe i love seeing those adorable little balls of fluff! *runs off to look at old pictures*
Ok FINALLY new pictures!
I have been swamped Marshmallow is off her rocker I can’t even get near her right now without her going into attack mode unless I have food then she is extra sweet. But anyway on with the pictures they opened their eyes about a week ago so they are 3 weeks or a little older.
All 3 of them (Boy, Boy, Girl)
Boy 1 (no he isn’t blind my camera sucks)
He lubs my mom
Little Girl I love her curly hair!
Last little girl picture
Last little boy he already loves toys
Chubby Cheeks
LOL already attempting to chew the toy
sssosoo cute! their little faces look like cocker spaniel puppy faces! just not as hairy! lol
oh my gosh! i want i want!!!
Great piccies! They are so beautiful. It never fails to amaze me how quickly babies change (animal and human) .
Hope Marshmellows ok….
Omg! I wonder what breed they are! I guess we’ll have to wait. Wow, just on your doorstep? I wish something like that would happen to me!
They look like little bears, haha. Do people in your neighborhood know you as the nice animal person, so they think it’s ok to abandon pets at your house?!
Lol my baby cousin calls them her teddy bears. Everyone in this town knows about me an my animals so they pretty much get dumped here. Still not a good thing but I would rather they end up here than the shelter we have here.
Their resemblance to my already aforementioned huskies is striking. We actually had one we called Bear, because he was brown fuzzy xerox copy of his dad.
You are just lucky you don’t live in Alaska, Sonn…because I’d swipe them off your porch as surely as they were left there.
*i’ve sworn off dogs i’ve sworn off dogs i’ve sworn off dogs*
