I have something I’d like to make for my daughter, but I am really lousy at making patterns. It’s this little plush bunny from her favorite anime. (shhh…it’s a surprise!)

It looks like this. Very simple.

It’s just darts and rounded edges and seams…good grief, I learned all this in junior high, but I’ve long since forgotten how to do it from scratch.

Any help is greatly appreciated! ^_^ Thankies!

Wish I could help… sorry. I have a friend that might be able to if I remember to ask her…

            Sorry, MM.
I googled last night for bunny toy patterns, and other variations including anime, and came up crabgrass.

I’m thinking you could go to more websites looking for free bunny toy patterns, then change out the eyes and make felt ones to match the anime above. I know you can’t just pop over to your local fabric store or I’d suggest doing a plow through a McCall’s drawer of patterns for toy bunnies.

Edit: I googled one more time, and you can buy this from Amazon:

McCalls Bunny and dress, Pattern #3846 (I think)

Mimz – Make a big copy of this and get some tranfer paper and one of those tracing wheels that has all the points in it, then overlay the fabric with transfer paper, then your design and use the wheelie to transfer the design.  Be sure when you cut to allow for seams.  If you want, you can also buy the iron-on transfer paper and print it out on a color printer, and transfer the whole design to the fabric (after you’ve cut it out after the transfer of the shape) and not have to worry about painting or drawing the characters eyes, nose etc.  It also depends on how you want to do this, you can fancy it up and do the ears separate. I would suggest trying this on some cheap muslin or dollar fabric first.

Here are the tools I am talking about (tracing paper & wheelie):

              Here are some instructional videos:

Let me know if you decide to give it a try! It’s been a while since I’ve done it.

Thanks, Pam. I do have a Michael’s up here and a JoAnn’s, but yeah, it’s hard to get there (or anywhere in town lately).

Thanks Rose! ^_^ Yeah, I just have such a hard time knowing where to start, this is a big help, thank you!
Never thought of making a large copy of the actual piccy…that makes sense.
Well…*crosses fingers* wish me luck! ^_^ (Maybe a good sewing project will get my mind off my latest troubles too…lolz.)

You’re welcome! I hope it turns out well for you. I find that keeping my hands and mind busy ease the troubles on my mind.
