Any vets in the UK?

hi can any one help i have a 3 yr old mini rex with a swollen hind leg he’s putting weight on it but trys to keep it up????

Hello tink, and welcome!

It sounds like he has a pretty bad injury to his back leg – what area are you in? We can suggest some vets to you, as you will probably want to take your bunny to a vet because injury to a back leg can become a life long injury without proper care.  Do you know what happened to his leg?  Is he grinding his teeth loudly or crying as if he is in pain? And is he eating anything? If he is not eating, he is most likely in a lot of pain and needs to go to a vet right away.  Let us know if you need some help finding some vet recommendations.  A good place to start is http://www.rabbit.org !

hi thanx for the reply ,

well the answers to the questions are his eating habbits have not changed and he doesn’t mind me touching it there is different lump in the foot thats hurt to the one that isnt he makes no noise to indicate pain, i am worried and he is my 1st rabbit of the 3 and i have no idea of what to do or which vets to go? i’m in uk , winsford, cheshire.

please help!!

Hi~ poor bunny. i’m in  the U.K too although i’m slightly further north than you (nr Newcastle to be exact!).  I found the best way to get a rabbit savvy vet was simply to phone them all up and ask them questions then compare and contrast.  It may take an hour but it’s worth it.  I found a great and very local vet, by doing just that.  Unfortuantely bunnies still seem to be a bit of an enigma here in the U.K.  The other thing to do would be to simply phone a local shelter (even RSPCA) and see if they can help – they will have dedicated vets they use and trust.

If you get benefits you can use the PDSA for free also if you have one near you.
