Any Sanrio fans here?

Since the most recent change of my signature file and avatar, I’ve gotten compliments and I was wondering if it’s just the cute characters you like or are there any Sanrio/Hello Kitty fans here? My avvy features my personal fave: Baby Cinnamon (a.k.a. Cinnamoroll) and my siggy is his friend, Cappucino. I clipped these from a Christmas background that Sanrio.com offered a few years back.

Cinnamoroll and his gang of muffin pups were originally introduced, oh I think about 10 years ago. I also like Chococat, Kitty and Mimi and Tenorikuma (who I think was the substitue for the too quickly retired Hoshikuma). My more wicked self likes Kuromi. (A somewhat Goth version of My Melody, the little white bunny.)

If you know anything about Sanrio, it’s that they produce a limited amount of each “fur”sona for stationery, backpacks, bentos, plushies (oh yeah, have a few of those!), and other figurines and such.

I have the “Hello Kitty: Big City Dreams” game for DS. It’s supposed to be a little girl’s game I guess, but I still get frustrated trying to flip ice cream into tubs at the Cinnamoroll Cafe or pluck plushies from the claw game at Keroppi’s place. ^_^

I have to find a way to share the video commercial I have stored on my PC with y’all. It may be on YouTube somewhere too. I still drive my kids nuts with it from time to time and I’ve had it since the inception of Baby Cinnamon. It’s a big plushie of the character dancing around (which meant a lot of frame by frame poses strung together) with Japanese singing in the background and it’s about 30 seconds long. I’ll see if I can find a link to it someplace. If nto I’ll have to upload it and post later.

 

Also, anyone here (especially my fellow gamers) like the LIttlest Pet Shop? I was bored so I recently bought the Winter version for DS and I was up till about 5 AM this morning just trying to unlock the Chilliest Lop Ear Rabbit. It’s a harder game than it looks!

There must be something about large-headed cartoon characters that draws me I guess…Peanuts, anything from Japan with that “chibi” look to it, LPS and Animal Crossing, etc. It’s an addiction for sure! xD

I will always have a special bond with Hello Kitty!

It all started back in college, when my then boyfriend and I broke up. I just couldn’t stop crying the first couple of days. My best friend/ roommate, came into my room and said I could borrow her HUGE Hello Kitty to sleep with for as long as I needed it. She said it has helped her get through some heartbreaks and tough times – that Hello Kitty has soaked up many tears for her and for some reason would make her feel better. I looked at this goofy looking big headed cat toy (and I mean it was huge! The head was at least four times the size of a human head). So I pitifully whimpered….”okay”.

I snuggled with that Hello Kitty, and it seriously made me feel better. It calmed me down and I got some sleep and felt better. It might have been the comfort of a sweet gesture from my friend, but I will always have great feelings about Hello Kitty!

Oh, and I can’t even think about doing another video game.  I’m still working on “Oblivian” and I’ve had that for two years!

I have a Cinnamoroll about the size of the Hello Kitty you described. xD He takes up half my room it seems like! And SO soft and lovable!

MM, slightly off topic, but can you recommend any video games for a regular PC? I tried a Harry Potter one, but it was boring. I did an Agatha Christie mystery that drove me CRAZY but I managed to finish it. I’m not sure I like games, but since I’ve only tried a few, I don’t think I know what’s out there. The SIMS was also pretty dull.

I guess I liked the murder mystery best. Just want a DVD I can pop into my computer to play with once in a while.

oh my gosh. animal crossing is an AMAZING GAME! as is harvest moon. oh an all of the final fantasies, and ZELDA OMG and Pokemon and basically any other RPG you can think of!!!!!!!!!! i LOOOOVVVEEE video games. lol im a big nintendo fan, i have a game cube, 64, and a DS. sorry a little of topic but alot of those are games with cute little critters from asia. lol!

Are there any versions that don’t use Nintendo? I don’t have game player hardware, just your basic PC that takes CD’s or DVD.s.

i really really really like the tycoon games. rollercoaster tycoon, zoo tycoon, lemonade tycoon, mall tycoon, cruise ship tycoon, etc… You basically run your own themepark, zoo, lemonade stand, mall, cruiseship etc… and control ALL aspects of it from hired help and how much they get paid to ticket prices to food prices. Very fun. For me anyway. lol i think zoo tycoon was my favorite next to rollercoaster tycoon.

OMG, I bought Roller Coaster Tycoon with my PC, when I got it about 5 years ago, for my son…it took so much memory that I never used it. I also never loaded my Lord of the Rings stuff either. lolz….
I get VERY frustrated when something slows down my computer. No patience for that stuff.

Hm, aren’t there any Clue games for PC Pam? I really don’t use mine much for anything except online petsites and such (plus here of course). I like RPG’s myself and anything with regular style games like chess or breakout or mazes (I have a whole two CD’s worth of Hoyle games which are a kick.) And my son only plays shooters like Command and Conquer, so there’s no hope there. ;_;

Sorry, I wish I had some better ideas. You like the mysteries huh? ^_^ My daughter is completely into that if it’s for television. I’m afraid I had to watch too much of that with my mom when I was little. Burned me out.

PeppersMama, here was actually supposed to be a Cinnamoroll game coming out for DS, but I don’t know what ever happened to it. I think probably it got lost in the storeroom.

The tycoons do take up ALOT of memory, so you would have to have a good computer to run them. my laptop is top of the line and it even gets slow trying to run sims theme park (same basis as tycoon)

some of the top pc games out now are Littlest pet shop (pc version), Spore, a good mystery game out right now is called madame fate, and zoo tycoon.

Also just basic online games i really like are the games where you try to find your way out of a locked room. try one of these on this site http://www.fasco-csc.com/index_e.php they are all listed right there the crimson room, the viridian room, and the white room. also there is the blue chamber, and several others if you just search point and click games. I really really like point and click games. there is also a series which is not as difficult to complete but very beautiful graphics…but i forget the name. you could try these

I think all the Sanrio characters are so cute! I always loved Hello Kitty and Keropi (I think he’s Sanrio?) Was Hamtaro Sanrio? I used to watch that cartoon because it was so cute and had a bunch of plushies.

I was in awe when I went to Epcot in Florida, in the Japan pavilion there was a store of Japan cartoon stuff including tons of Sanrio. I bought a really cute change purse with a Sanrio-esque bunny on it.

hehe … coincidentally I’ve brushed up on my sanrio knowledge and have found my fav to be Charmmy kitty. Of course I also like the sugarbunnies which remind me of my bunnies … n_n

Yup, I knew Cinnamoroll was a dog. But he’s so bunny-like, I use him for my siggy here.
Sugarbunnies are kawaii! ^_^ My daughter has the plush of the white one, I like the brown one.
She is very big on Charmmy Kitty. That chara replaced Spottie Dottie I think. No wait, FroolieMew. Pinki Lilli replaced Dottie. *urgh-Sanrio politics*

I love Hamtaro. When I get that theme song going through my head it’s a bad day for everyone around here..lolz. I start doing the dance that goes with it and then suddenly no one wants to be seen in public with me. 0_o

I happen to have an email addy at Sanriotown. I once won a drawing contest there, but couldn’t use the prize because it was for Hong Kong residents only.
