Any breed which would you pick?

Ok lets pretend that pet shops no longer sell animals and the shelters where not needed anymore and the only way you could get a new rabbit was to put yourself on a waiting list from a breeder…

Which breed would you pick?

For me it changes a bit but I have to say Lion head (because they just look sooo cute) or a BIG dutch as they look like they would give the best cuddles!

well I think i will always have a neatherland after having bugz so that was a given. I have never seen a lionhead over here so i think that even if I wanted one I would have to go on a waiting list!

Wow… interesting to think about no petstores and no need for shelters… wouldn’t it be amazing if everyone KEPT the buns they acquired!?

In that case… I’d get two (who am I kidding?!)… a big beautiful gray or black Flemish Giant and an equally beautiful (but not quite as big) New Zealand REW.

Oh my gosh, I’m so in love with lops that they are probably the only bunnies I’ll ever have. But without any consequences for my actions or without making a bun homeless I’d just die to get my hands on a charcoal grey colored english lop. Exactly like this one… isn’t that the most precious story book bunny ever?

Haha, I keep just staring at this pic now. She doesn’t even look like a real bunny. She looks like a gray velveteen rabbit with satin lining in her ears. Sigh, what a pretty girl.

I’d also like a black and white dutch-with the little white feeties. And probably another lionhead-they shed big fur, but they don’t shed *much* -that’s always nice. And they look goofy and cute.

Oh I almost forgot-I want a GIANT bunny-German/flemish giant. Ruperts big but I would go for bigger

Hmmm … part of me would like another Holland Lop – either a shaded color (white or tan body with darker nose/ears/etc) or plain old broken tort (I love the spotted ones for some reason).

I’d love a harli (we call them “tiger bunnies” in our house, lol).

And I want a Flemmie!!! Though hubby would prefer a French Lop because they’re just as big as Flemmies but look like a giant version of our current bun.

I would totally want a “siamese” colored bunny- but with the extra white on the face and body- it is called a “broken shaded sable”? Not sure on the official color name.  But I love, love, love that color and pattern.  I also love the black/grey and white harlequin bunnies too.

But as to what breed?  Well, I do adore lops so maybe a Velveteen Lop.  But it would be nice to have an uppy eared bunny in my “sea of lops”- so if the bunny had the gorgeous coloring and uppy ears- that is all I would really need.  I guess now that I got my “dream bunny”- Griffin the English Lop- I can dream bigger now!

I would steal Griffin! My mom already said I could. lol. She actually had a dream about him after I showed her pictures. Any breed though would def be rex or mini rex. I really can’t say enough how much a love the lack of constant shedding that my other two have. I’ve seen some awesome rex mixes too. I just can’t get over that fur.

You know guys I am going and looking up half these breeds (as being new to the rabbit slave business I am not 100% sure what they all are) and well my list is growing! I think that my next rabbit (in say oh… 10 years hopefully) I would look at shelters for a giant as they just look so great!

I’m going to add to my list. I want a grey mini rex, amand’as herd (all of em!), Kafrn’s herd (<3 rabz!) Sophie's babies, those wild babies, and jack. jack's just awesome. And maybe griffin, just so my hubby can stare at him wondering how he manages those ears. <3

There are quite a few members (do I have to spell out names?) whose rabbits I haven’t seen photos of.

Well this is kind of a collage I guess – Giselle, then Toffiee & Twizzler, Mango, Peaches & Peppermint and Maxiine

Keep in mind that I do not know the true ages of any of my rabbits since they were strays or from an animal shelter so it’s just a guess between my vets and myself.  I have had my seniors all over 6 years (Pepe is probably my youngest and I’ve had him for 4 1/2 years and maybe Emmy too my Rex) and all were full grown when I got them.

My seniors are Maxine (NZ White)

Peaches & Peppermint (Bonded Dutch Pair)

Mango (gray and white Dutch)

Toffee & Twizzler (mixes)

Giselle (Californian) although Giselle is by far my youngest at heart.

Yes, my rabbits aren’t tiny.

Maxine, Toffee, Twizzler came from the Dallas Animal Shelter
Giselle, Mango, Peaches, Peppermint and Pepe were strays
Emmy came from some lady who rescued her from some situation that I cannot really remember

They were all from a small fostering rescue that I helped start that is no longer in business and they were basically the unadopted so they are now mine.
