Man, I just don’t stop with the questions.

Okay, so I’ve been checking Bindi’s incision every day (neutered Tuesday). The incision is scabbing and healing nicely. For the first 2 days I applied ice pace every 12 hours. The only thing is his balls (sorry, can’t think of a better  word) are still really big.  It’s not swelling, they feel like 2 empty balloons. Is this normal, do they eventually deflate or what?

Also he still seems a bit more lazy than normal even though it’s been 3 days. He is eating and pooping normally.

Any info would be greatly appreciated cuz Momma is worried.

(no advice here-no idea ! Sorry) But don’t they have their ‘balls ‘ (hehe) removed for a neuter?

Well they remove the inner stuff but the ball sac is still there.

Known as "the scrotum" in polite company (the bag, that is).

Now if my anatomy is correct….a small incision is made in the scrotom and the testes are removed from that incision.  Most animals look like…deflated balls or small cotton balls.  They also don’t hang like teste filled scrotoms.  Rabbit scrotoms are more internal that other animals (i.e. dogs, cats), so it may not be obvious that the neuter occurred.  I suggest not really poking around down there until he’s fully healed and the vet gives the go ahead for poking–I hope that made sense and didn’t sound so pervey.  You shouldn’t need to ice down there, esp if he has pain meds.  The overall incision is very small similar to a laproscopic incision.  The biggist concern w/ most  neuters is overall response to anesthesia.  So you may be noticing more anesthetic grogginess.

                    Hi,

I cant find where i sent the info about my Gidget being neutured on jan 29. wow, how nervous was I?

Gidget is 17 week old holland lop, and he was spraying…EVERYTHING.

When we picked him up at vet he was groggy and we got syringe with pain med, once a day.

today he is alot more active, still in his cage, getting restless. I held him this morning,

just like we did before the spraying…he was very good boy. I was prepared for spray  but

it did not happen…today.  i think by the weekend i will open door to cage so he can be in his room

only. it was only 132.50 but money well spent if he stop spraying and lives a long time!

                    Ali
