  Lost my female, Garcia last week. Then a newish male, Leroy. Not sure what is going on, driving me mad. Leroy had always been thin, so probably crappy genetics.

  Colorful and lovely. I’m sorry you lost Garcia and Leroy. I can’t advise of fish, but I can say those are wonderful names and you having them was probably better than being in a store somewhere.

    My Bettas tend to darken up, so we’ll see what changes await.
    
    When I got Burt, there was a stunning koi Betta that was shimmery pearl with one golden square. Wanted him too. Went back a day later and he was gone, darn it. Hope he got a good home.
    
    So hard to choose!

  I’m sorry for the lost fish 🙁 Have there been any changes in your water? Like even the city doing maintenance? Might be worth having your water tested. I was having all these issues with my office tanks a few years ago and turns out they had replaced some plumbing with copper pipes. I was essentially poisoning my tanks with each water change. I lost two wonderful bettas and a bunch of really old Amani shrimp before I finally figured out what was happening. 🙁

    We’re on well water. We did some tests, it was ok.

  I miss my Betta’s. My favorite was a Mustard Gas Dragonscale male. Bettas can be surprisingly finicky when it comes to water. Everything can seem fine even the readings can be fine but something will just set them off and they die.

  Got another koi Betta today, lots of orange. Named him Horatio. Will get pictures asap.
  
  Never seen one with orange, hope he doesn’t darken too much.

  Ahhh now you were really making me want to get a tank up and running again!
  
  I had three planted tanks before I moved (all were rehomed to friends), a 10 gal with a betta, a 4 gal with shrimp, and a 20 gal with ember tetras, some corydoras, and some sparkling gourami. I miss them!

    Yes, set up a tank. I have a ten gallon I want to set up as a planted tank, but no where to put it at the moment.
