So working on the heat problem as it’s quite warm here. Came up with two ideas, one i was able to put to use

You know those large flat ice packs? (see below) freeze one, wrap with a towel or faux sheep skin for an air conditioned bed (Couldn’t do this today, could not find *one* at the largest walmart in Canada…*sigh*

Ok and the other, which I was able to put to use today since I couldn’t find ice packs, is the hot/cold therapy bags; Just freeze and use like a water bottle idea, but softer and more maleable

i wonder what is in the gel pack… it says non-toxic, but i’m such a worry-wart. i guess as long as the faux sheepskin was thick enough so they could not bite into it, or a double-wrapped towel… excellent idea K&K! thosee soft pads look really comfy!

ooooh… great idea!  the faux sheepskin i have would be perfect so that they couldn’t tear into what it’s wrapped around.  it’s quite warm here too.  but i’m getting a window a/c unit soon… yay!

Hmm, something tells me that they are not entirely safe, does it say what the ingredients are? Be very careful that your bun does not chew on them. I think I would stick to frozen water.

I have stayed away from those chewable coolers just because I’m afraid of that all the goop inside can’t be good. I know though that the ideal thing would be for them to be able lie on something cool, not just next to it. You might want to try the snugglesafe discs too. Another thing I use are the little hard rectangular plastic cooler things (usually found in lunchboxes). Though a bunny could chew on those too, but the thick rounded edged plastic makes it very difficult.

That’s true, if you’re bunny is a chewer then you definitely want to be more careful. I guess I thought of it as none of my three chew/destroy anything….But I still have had no luck finding one!!

K & K do you have a Rite-Aid or Walgreens in Canada? I know it may seem like a dumb question, but I’ve only been to Niagara Falls and so am not well-versed on what you have there….except of course IKEA!!! I am so jealous…

Oops typo K & K, I believe you meant *think*

They make a back one that is pretty large and a bit expensive. It’s by Thera-Med and is called a Cold Pack Back Pad (www.thera-med.com). I do not know if the contents are non-toxic but I can tell you it stays pliable.
