due to the content of this post, i think is appropriate to start out with: "like sands throught the hourglass… so are the days of our lives" hahaha

so, Baby bun is getting frustrated that Bogart (the mutt) is not cooperating with her grooming demands.  the big dumb dog just doesn’t get it at all.  they’ve been spending more time together since Baby is now happy to hang out with us in the living room during tv time.  Bogart will be plopped out on the floor, chin down & Baby will approach and put her head near his chin down too.  then the dog promptly turns his head away.

this happened several times and baby just turned, gave him THE BUM, did her own thing for a bit & then re-attempted.  at one point Bogart’s big ole head blocked her path.  she first requested grooming from him like usual & when he turned away yet again it looked like she decided to try to climb over him.  but instead she proceeded to HUMP HIS HEAD!  BUAHhahahahaha… i laughed so hard.  and she eventually jumped off.  this is sadly not a new experience for Bogart (‘cept for it being the bun) as there have been times where he has a dog on each end humping him at the off-leash park.  he never seems to mind.  good thing he’s so submissive huh?

as always i’m keeping a close eye on the pair of ’em incase i have to referee and am armed with "the water bottle’.  you don’t think Baby will get aggressive with him do you?  i’m not sure whether she thinks he’s a great big stubborn bun who’s challenging her ‘top bun’ position or a big dumb dog who she’s chalked upto being little-to-no threat (& hence worth trying to dominate).

        to be continued…

Well, I’m sure Bogart thinks he’s being polite by not making direct eye contact with Baby. For dogs, this would mean aggression, too bad Baby doesn’t understand that, and LUCKILY, your Bogart sure is easy-going. Baby obviously humped poor Bogart to reiterate who was the boss here since Bogart wasn’t grooming him. Well, I don’t know if Baby will get aggressive. It wouldn’t be uncommon for a bunny to nip especially if all of her other more less aggressive attempts at getting groomed didn’t work. So do watch out. Not sure how your dog would react to that, so just keep a watchful eye.

Baby is just going to have to accept Bogart the way he is, so hopefully she will be a bit more forgiving for his “dogness”

I look forward to the updates.

Seriously too funny! How ‘bunny-tude’ is that, “a fifty-pound predator NOT grooming ME?? I will show him !!!” (just guessing the weight btw )

                actually Bogart’s close to 70 lbs!  lol… i know… complete ‘bunny-tude’.

well there’s been no more head humping, just a lot of cuddling after the living room binkys & cardboard renos are out of her system.  baby seems content with it… for now anyways.  as long as she’s not tempted by having to climb over his head anyways

Oh that is funny how you pre-empted …like sands through the hourglass… LOL Well hopefully they’ll come to an agreeable understanding soon. I woudl definately keep an eye on her to be sure she doesn’t nip Bogart on the nose.
