hershey went to the vet yesterday for a check up! she got her yearly vaccination for calicivirus, ears, eyes, nose, mouth and weight check. all good! the vet said she’s been taking care of herself well as her coat is nice and shiny.

we told the vet about the 2 times that hershey got sick from her sore tummy…but the vet wasn’t too concerned with it, she said it was good that we were able to turn it around in such a short time.

also, hershey is now 2kg! vet said she’s not fat, she has a little bit of fat on her tummy but nothing to be concerned about and probably shouldn’t get any bigger…does this sound right? she also said its probably mostly the pellets contributing to her weight and she should only get 1 teaspoon of pellets a day….right now she’s getting a lot more than that. 1 teaspoon seems pretty minimal…hershey can eat that in 2 seconds! hehe

They do carry any weight around the abdomen. How much pellets do you give her currently? You can start to reduce it but just give at the normal times – just a little less. That way you don’t mess with her routine and she’ll think she’s still getting her ration as usual hopefully!

Great news!! Yearly exams are important

I don’t know that I’d trim the pellets down to a teaspoon, but like Jers said you could trim it down a little-that way she’ll eat more hay which is good too!
