So as of late Cadbury has decided that our ragdoll is her best friend or something… She follows him EVERYWHERE (she tries to be UNDER him) he smacks her and hisses then RUNS the other direction , she follows.  He so far has not unsheathed his claws, but I am sure thats coming.  Why is she doing this?  Should I get her a bunny friend or should I get her spayed now?  oh and she is now 3.5 lbs.  oh its funny she annoyes him so much.  I love her…. But I fear she wont live long if this continues

It’s good that you’re keeping an eye on them because both are capable of doing some serious damage to the other if it turns into a serious fight.
Definitely time to get the spay appointment asap.

A surrogate toy won’t hurt, and might help. You could get a little stuffed cat toy and put it in your cat’s bed when he’s not there to get his smell, then give it to Cadbury. Might help.

She has a stuffed rabbit toy that she IGNORES… and two of the clucking cadbury rabbits hanging in her cage that she grooms SOMETIMES. but she LOVES to annoy the cats, it started this week… and while the cats do have places they can go to escape her they like to be out in the living room with the people. The dog sometimes intervenes and starts to play with the rabbit (they chase each other then the dog will pin the bunny and groom her or the bunny attempts to pin the dog and groom the dog….)

As with all new animal interaction, keep supervising their time together. From what I know of cats, Ragdoll just isn’t interested in being a friend, and will probably avoid Cadbury to the best of his ability. They shouldn’t come to fighting unless the cat feels cornered or Cadbury attempts to mount or wrestle him.

I would suggest making sure there’s somewhere your cat can go that the rabbit won’t be able to follow (and won’t attempt!), such as a tall scratching post with a sitting spot on top, so that if necessary he can get away from Cadbury and doesn’t feel trapped with her. Who knows, with time your cat may come around and enjoy the rabbit’s company.

If you can get the scent of the cat on the toy (just rub the toy over the cat or brush your cat and take the fur from the comb and rub it all over the toy), then she may get more interested in the toy.

Also becareful about the dog and rabbit play too — A dog pinning a rabbit is a different kind of play than a rabbit pinning a dog. They may be done for two different reasons. I don’t know how big your dog is though, but bunny bones are fragile and can be easily injured.

Gabby’s face would just light up every time our cat Abby got near her. She would hop over quickly to her to try and interact. Abby would just meow and walk away. Gabby had been spayed already so I took her on a bunny date at an animal shelter. She now has her husbun Thumper and could care less about our cate Abby now.
