Whoa, rabbittude… Yes, they can get really angry, and they have pretty clear ways of telling us. I’m happy that she’s not constantly giving you the butt, they can keep it up for days.
Our bridge bunny Breintje once revenge-peed after I petted another rabbit. Friends sometimes bring their bun(nies) to celebrate New Year here, because we live in a quieter area. Breintje never minded other bunnies, as long as they were in an area of the living room that wasn’t his territory. Their buck Willie was in his pen, Breintje walked over and assessed the situation. He sniffed the other rabbit, chinned Willie’s carrier to claim it and just hopped off to cuddle with me on the sofa.
When it was dinner time I gave Breintje his plate of vegetables and gave Willie one as well. I gave him a little scritch behind the ears as he ate, and Breintje went wild. *THUMP THUMP THUMP* “CHEATER!!!” Breintje was so angry that I got bunny butt for the rest of the evening, and he wouldn’t even take a raisin from me. When the visitors were gone he hopped onto my spot the sofa, and thumped. Once he knew we had eye contact he lifted up his tail, opened his scent glands, and sent a stream of super musky pee all over my spot on the sofa. Point taken.. lesson learned… 🙄
